Can’t currently access You Tube from my old BlackBerry. Can you post briefly about what the Assemblyman said?

Essentially, that Jews cannot trust this president about Israel or much of anything. That throwing Jerusalem out of the dem platform could not have happened without obama’s approval. That he would not understand why or if Jews voted for him in sufficient numbers to reelect him for four more years.

Right now Jewish support for Obama is just 59% which is 19 points less than what he got last time. Fact: No Democrat has ever won the presidency while getting less than 68% of the Jewish vote. Jews are a guide post of what happens in the general. Nine points short and counting.

Maybe not since Israel is generally not an issue --This may be unique to the issue and not an issue for the general public

Summary:
Obama won’t meet with Netanyahu.
Dems booed adding Jerusalem as capital to platform.
He won’t be voting for Obama.
American Jews support Democrats because Israel isn’t their primary issue. “They are more concerned about gay marriage or abortion.” (Those are Jewish issues??)
Pretty hard hitting denouncement of Obama. Well, from a leftist Democrat official.

You are more than welcome. To add a little, the man actually looked hurt and incredulous that the party, HIS party, would do this. This appearance was on Fox with Neil Cavuto so a whole LOT of people saw it.

I don’t think Mr. Hikind’s comments are going to change anyone’s mind. He’s always been a bit of a renegade among NYC Democrats, having gone out of his way to endorse Republican candidates (including George W. Bush) in the past.

Well, one Democratic Jew gets it. That’s progress—sort of. My question is: why is he still a Democrat?

Great stuff. It’s funny that abortion and gay marriage have become the most important issue for some American Jews.

He’s right on some jinos like Howard Stern, Gay Marriage. It’s all Stern cares about if you can stomach 10 min of a show he’ll find a way to tell you.

i don’t know about his district, but there sure aren’t many Republicans in Brklyn.
If the GOP ever got to parity in the state HOUSE in Albany, you would see some switching.

Its funny that abortion and gay marriage have become the most important issue for some American Jews. The irony is unreal. They support the long-road form of eugenics. It reminds me of Twilight Zone episode "To Serve Man".

Its funny that abortion and gay marriage have become the most important issue for some American Jews. No, it's not funny, it's indicative of ignorance of Jewish tradition. There is no argument from Jewish law or philosophy that supports unrestricted elective abortion. Abortion is legal under Jewish law only when the mother's life is at risk if the pregnancy isn't terminated.
Despite the fairly high percentage of today's American Jewish women who somehow support unrestricted elective abortion (i.e., a woman's right to choose), it is extremely rare to encounter a Jewish woman known to have actually had such a procedure. Hypocrisy?
As for "gay marriage": there is no support at all for it to be drawn from Jewish law, philosophy, or history. From this Jewish perspective, it is totally illogical to mess around with the basic definition of marriage - one man and one woman - after thousands of years of precedent.
BTW, since abortion and gay marriage are essentially state issues, it's hard to see how the presidential election will effect either one, one way or the other.
