The Kingdom’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh called on the international community to criminalize acts of abusing great prophets and messengers such as Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon them all), according to a statement issued today.
The statement was issued in response film in the United States denigrating Islam and ridiculing the Prophet (pbuh).
Al-Asheikh also appealed to the Ummah to react to any attempt to denigrate Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) by strictly adhering to the values advocated by the Prophet (pbuh) instead of unleashing violence against innocent people, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The mufti said the attempts of a filmmaker filled with hatred to Islam would not harm the great personality of the Prophet (pbuh) or anything in Islam in any manner but would only reflect on the people who spread venomous ideas.

Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar Ahmed al-Tayyeb has demanded a UN resolution criminalizing blasphemy against Islam and other world religions, as well as demanding that those he described as “misled” be punished for committing “these heinous acts of abuse to the Prophet.”
In a statement released Saturday, Tayyeb called on UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to criminalize the defamation of religion, saying that such actions and words threaten world peace and international security.
“Is not that irresponsible tampering, Mr. Secretary General, similar to the issue of [anti-Semitic] prejudice, which you condemn all the time, and [against] which verdicts were issued against alleged perpetrators in many countries of the world, even if they are great thinkers and scientists?” Tayyeb asked in the statement.
Tayyeb also called on all Egyptians to keep calm and condemned attacks on innocent people and expressed sympathy for victims of the recent violence. He also stressed the need to protect diplomatic missions and the headquarters of international organizations.

Just wondering how soon the 1st. Amendment, the free speech part, will be cancelled with “anything is a hate speech crime”.
This internationaL law would be like America’s hate laws.
The hate laws only apply to whites. Blacks are never guilty.
This law would apply only to Islam,Jews Christians and other religions would never be found to need the law.

This hits the liberals directly -- the Da Vinci code would have to be banned as would The life of Brian, Jesus Christ Superstar, SouthPark etc. etc. also the various "art" (and I use that loosely) works like "P*ss Christ", etc. would have to be banned.
