The Muslim Brotherhood's official English-language Twitter account @Ikwanweb reposted a message from the group's deputy head, Khairat El-Shater, saying he was "relieved none of @USembassycairo staff was hurt" in three days of sometimes violent protests, and expressing his hope that US-Egypt relations could weather the events.
This reconciliatory tweet, however, was posted while the Brotherhood's Arabic-language Twitter account and its official website were both praising the protests -- staged against a US-made film judged defamatory towards Islam -- and calling for a million man march on Friday.
One Arabic language article on the Brotherhood's site sported the headline 'Egyptians rise to defend the Prophet'.
Noting the contradiction, the US Embassy in Cairo tweeted a tart response from its own account: "Thanks. By the way, have you checked out your own Arabic feeds? I hope you know we read those too."
Seemingly stung, the Brotherhood replied some 20 minutes later, saying "we understand you're under a lot of stress, but it will be more helpful if you point out exactly the Arabic feed of concern."

I told my Husband the same thing, it gave a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. Timing is interesting to say the least.
Do blackberry’s, Ipad, etc., have a keyboard for all languages, even that chicken scratch called Arabic?
Does Obama actually speak Arabic? Other than what he remembers from his boyhood Koran classes, that is.
It took just a few clicks for me to set my iPod Touch 2nd generation's keyboard to Arabic. I hope I can change back now.

There really is no legitimate reason for the US Marines guarding our embassies in hostile countries to refrain from defending our embassy with weapons.
By treaty, embassies are supposed to be protected by their host countries. But in Muslim nations, this is not taken seriously, or the local government may actually encourage rioters to attack.
The rationale used by the State Department is nonsensical, that the Marines can’t fight back because it might “offend” the host nation were they to hose rioters with machine guns when they busted into our embassy compound.
Seriously, “offend” a country because we killed rioters who wanted to kill us, while that government did nothing?
To hell with that. The next Republican president should issue a directive to all embassies, and ROE to the Marines defending them, that when rioters go over the wall, or through the wall, shoot them.
