The White House is disavowing a statement from their own Cairo embassy that apologized for anti-Muslim activity in the United States.
"The statement by Embassy Cairo was not cleared by Washington and does not reflect the views of the United States government," a senior administration official told POLITICO.
The U.S. embassy in Cairo put out a statement early Tuesday that apologized for an anti-Muslim film being circulated by an Israeli-American real estate developer.
"The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions," the embassy said in a statement published online.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the film depicts the Muslim prophet Muhammed as a "womanizer, pedophile and fraud" — depiction bound to offend many Muslims.
The embassy came under widespread criticism for failing to defend free speech in the face of threats of violence. Egyptian protesters rioted anyway, breaching the embassy walls and tearing down the American flag.
"Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet. The United States deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. Our commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. But let me be clear: There is never any justification for violent acts of this kind," Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in a Tuesday statement.
She’s had a pretty tough day. Her embassy was overrun and 0blahblah just threw her under his bus. She could probably use some sympathy and a little benefit of the doubt.

Of course it was written in Washignton with full Obama aprroval. Maybe, some day, soo, american will folk will begin to get it and realize Barack Hussein Obama and his “hate America” wife are truly enemies of the USA state!!!

It may not reflect the views of the President, although that is doubtful, but it certainly does represent the views of the United States Government.
That is what an Embassy does.
Child marriages and polygamy were very common everywhere, but in the ME by the time of Mohammed, the influence of the Jewish and Christian teachings had made this less universal.
The marriage of a man to a girl child or even marriage of a male child to a female child or infant was mostly to unite the families for social, economic and sometimes dynastic reasons, and generally did not actually take place (even the final ceremony) until the girl was about 14. This was actually true in Christian Europe too, although technically, a woman was not supposed to be married without her free consent, and sometimes girls could and did refuse to marry the husband to whom they had been “engaged” since childhood.
However, Mohammed went beyond what was the very low standard for his society, and also seemed to be an early preacher of “if it feels good, do it.” Bestiality and the sexual use of pre-pubescent boys were both approved of by Mohammed and his later followers, subject only to some ritual restrictions (like not eating the animal right afterwards...)
So in a lot of ways, what he did was revive and extend these very primitive customs that most of the rest of the civilized world had abandoned.
Hillary has 10x the balls of Obama.

Both of you spur me to attain greater heights. I abandoned my sole persona of the Free Republic Morale Squad, in the form of the FR Class Clown, to start writing serious editorials. Not that I still don't clown around, but it is not all I do any more.
The formula I have chosen for editorializing, is extreme brevity. I figured, in this ADD culture, brevity is the only thing that will keep most peoples' attention.

I was wondering, how difficult would it be to get about 25 Tea Partiers to purchase some “replacement flags” and throw them over the wall at the Egyptian embassy in DC? And, to add weight (to make throwing easier), wrap the flag around a pound of bacon?
Well, she works for someone who IS in WAY over his head.
It wouldn't surprise me if a FReeper broke the story that the Embassy "staffer" who was killed turned out to be the Ambassador.
