An Oregon grade school principal suggested in a newspaper interview that peanut butter and jelly sandwiches might be racially and culturally offensive.

One possible response: "They're in America; they can darned-well learn to eat sandwiches".

Second possible response: "How dull would be a world with only torta and pita to eat. We should celebrate the diversity that 'sandwiches' bring to that world!".
