Have you heard about the airliner which was ordered back to the gate on 9/11 when the terrorist attacks began, only to have four young Arab passengers jump off the plane, after which box cutters and Al Qaeda documents were found in their abandoned bags?

I have heard this story for years. Never confirmed. Why dont we have the names of the men who fled? Also just a correction UA 23 was EWR-LAX not JFK. One reason I sort of doubt this is the lack of names plus the fact UA23 was an A320 not 757 or 767. It is a completely different type of plane with a joystick and flyby wire. Plausible story but I can’t confirm it.
I have heard that “20 planes” number before. I don’t doubt anything. Seems interesting that 3 Hezbollah members were arrested yesterday at an airport in Mexico.
I remember this from the days right after 9/11 but never heard anything else about it.

I absolutely agree with you. A couple of my old buddies on the Threat Matrix were kicking this idea around with me a few years ago. I think it was judicial meanz, Old Sarge, MOSSAD1967, Travis McGee and me.
I figure that there have been three classes of OTM's infiltarting across the border:
A. The trained terrorists. Those with cells and tradecraft who have active support and specific targets in this country. They'll have intelligence and security guys to help them get papers and jobs and living accomodations etc. Then there will be the teams for target surveillance and lastly the bombers or trigger pullers. These maybe from non middle eastern nations like the Phillippines or Bosnia
B. The next group will be less educated but probably more numerous and they'll filter in wherever they can blend into the populace and get lower tier jobs like cab driver. They'll be code worded or code event oriented just as you said to activate upon a certain event or public utterance from some high falutin' Imam.
C. The final tier will be the homegrown believers who will have been ordered to get a gun or make a bomb and just go cyclic when everybody else does. The possible numbers range into the tens of thousands. Possibly as high as 70K in number. Talk about a "target rich" environment!

According to the article, the author only questioned why the U.S. government did not want to report the incident, why didn't the 9/11 Commission mention it in their official report, and why this incident was not mentioned until a decade later.
From what I read, this article had zip to do with Bush, the truthers, and never once implied or suggested the attacks were part of some government conspiracy. No?
In fact, if this is the case and the story is accurate, which might well be in this case, does it not seem a bit suspect it was not officially reported in some manner, way back when?
I remember hearing CNN report about box cutters being found on another plane. It wasn’t a plane in NY though. I seem to recall it was in Atlanta. They’d grounded all the planes and after passengers had disembarked, they found the box cutters hidden in a few seats.
With so much else going on at the time, they didn’t talk about this very much. But I remember it being reported.
Our VCR ran non-stop, 24/7, for weeks after the attacks. I imagine if I went back and played the first several, I’d run across other brief reports that have been forgotten about.
Agreed; I’d send them all to HELL, if I could.
BTW, these were all OUR KIND of Afghans ~ not the Taliban.

BTW, this area was at the end of a runway used for the assembly of the troop carrying planes being ferried over to England for the D-Day Invasion ~ it was the FRONT LINE ITSELF!
The DC area had numerous airfields built just for that purpose ~ some a little more permanent than others, but tens of thousands of airmen and their crews came through here to go by bus over to Bolling Field to be greated by President Roosevelt, or Truman, or the Secretary of War, before going on to Europe.
A local historic society has been at work identifying all these runways ~ I have some memories of the planes flying into Bolling and then out over my folk's apartment up the hill on Portland Street.

I understand Bush said something to the effect that Islam is a religion of peace, but why in tarnation, especially after 911, would the government welcome in many thousands of Muslims?
Does that not seem a bit odd?
