Over 120 Pastors & Christian Leaders Stand with Todd
St. Louis, MO: Today the Akin campaign released a list of over 120 pastors and Christian leaders who are publicly standing with Todd Akin. Some had previously signed their name, but many are voicing their support for the first time. These religious figures from every region of the state have decided to place their personal and very public support behind Congressman Todd Akin in his race for the United States Senate seat this year. The endorsement statement released was as follows:
We the undersigned do hereby affirm/reaffirm our continued support of Congressman Todd Akin for the office of United States Senate. We know his character and his conservative convictions. Furthermore, we accept fully his apology and his request for forgiveness. As stated in our previous endorsement: We greatly appreciate his long standing commitment to our God-given rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and his proven record of defending life, traditional marriage, religious liberty, the Second Amendment, free enterprise, limited government, fiscal responsibility and a strong national defense.
It is for such reasons as these, that we the undersigned affirm/reaffirm our personal support and continue to encourage our fellow Missourians to support Congressman Todd Akin as our next United States Senator.

I suspect that at some point you have either read lots of fantasy or been a fantasy writer yourself.
I would instruct you, however, if you are a writer, that when the character is being calm and educational, that is never to be characterized as “apoplectic”. It is entirely the wrong word.
The Doug of the Past would have been fair.
But...whatever...Romney does that to people.
re: But...whatever...Romney does that to people.

I read some fantasy, but mostly it was history and political books. History teaches us lessons. Romney did nothing to me. Once again, I will clarify for those who do not understand. I grow weary. If you were one of my students during the 10 years I taught college, you would be getting an incomplete. It should be an F, but I wanted to give you another chance. You probably mean well.
- I profoundly disagree with Romney
- I have not supported Romney
- He was not my candidate
- I was very disappointed when Newt and Santorum could not win it
- I have given Romney no money
- If he wins, which is necessary for this nation’s survival, I will not just sit back for his social policies; I will be out in the street fighting him
My position is the same as the founder of FreeRepublic. Did Romney do something to JimRob? Go tell that to Jim. Tell him he is not the Jim of the Past. I don’t think Jim is a sellout.
“Obama the capitalism-hating, liberty-hating, America-hating Marxist must be destroyed!!”
Jim already knows I think he’s wrong. I think Romney is as bad as Obama. I have not gone back on that. I will not. I think he respects that
With Romney continuing to move left, I would not be surprised to see Jim Robinson go back to his former position.
Just recently Romney has come out in favor of a health of mother exception for abortion. We both know that is radical open ended abortion.
That has to weigh heavily on Jim Robinson’s heart.
re: I think Romney is as bad as Obama

That statement amazes me and it is where we disagree. You believe anybody but Romney, including Obama, the guy who believes in infanticide. With that package, you get ACORN, no support for Israel, Iran with nukes, ballooning dept and economic ruin, more dependence on foreign countries for our energy, skyrocketing energy prices, laws from a stroke of the pen without Congress, shutdown of talk radio, censorship of the internet, Black Muslims with weapons at polling places, the Muslim Brotherhood, Eric Holder, Valerie Jarrett, Van Jones, and the rest of the Marxists who hate America. No thanks.
I guess Newt of the Past was better. Palin of the Past was better. Santorum of the Past was Better. They have all sold out.
I am the last person to state what is wrong or right. Fighting my own demons is hard enough!
For me personally, I believe He works in our daily lives. Perhaps just to see which crossroad we choose.
I chose my name NoGrayZone, because that is what I have been consistantly “accused” of.
I don’t live in gray. My world is black and white, right and wrong. To me, gray areas represent an area to do wrong.....and boy do people use it to the extreme!
No, I think they've made a grave error.
You do not, Doug, gain by taking the guy who will kill only 7 babies and say that's an improvement on the guy who will kill 10 babies. You are still choosing evil, a baby killer.
The Apostle Paul is very clear in Romans 3, you do not choose evil because you think it will result in good. Romans 3:8 "8 Why not say--as we are being slanderously reported as saying and as some claim that we say--"Let us do evil that good may result"? Their condemnation is deserved. "
Well said.
There is indeed a roar of hubris bellowing from the GOPE’s brittle castle.
Forgive me for backtracking to an earlier post, doug, but the italicized hit me later on.
I'm assuming that in the past you have given money.
Why not now? I'm curious.
I have never given Romney a contribution. I did not want him as the candidate, and he was next to the last on my list, just above Ron Paul. I wanted Newt/Bachmann. Or Santorum. Since California is not in play, I have the luxury of voting for a real conservative. I may write myself in. In a toss up state, I would not be happy about it, but I would have to vote for Romney -— not just sit out and effectively benefit the man who has always loathed this country.
Obama must be thrown out. I will then join the rest of you trying to move Romney to the right. I hope Paul Ryan can help in that effort.
You are basically saying you don’t send him money because he isn’t worthy of it. That’s how I feel about my vote. He supports things that I am certain are sinful. I have zero doubt. I just can’t do it. It violates everything I believe.
Fine. Since everyone sins, the best policy is probably to not vote again.
I may end up making a contribution. I don’t know. But I do know this -— this great nation will not survive four more years of Obama.
The revelation provided by the Bible reveals that some behavior is worse than others. Some sins are abominations, some are even understandable, such as stealing to feed one’s family in desperate times. Murder, indiscrimate killing, of course, brought about the death penalty.
Amen...some freepers...especially the ones drawn to harpy life...often middle aged women and male hangers on....cannot help but coalesce into some club about whoever the flavor is here...whether someone we nearly all like as in Palin or Bush in his heyday
or now Romney...you just wait...the fawning has already begun and the wolf pack of busy knitters forming.
I see a bevy of old names streaming in who have a history of exactly that since Jim Thompson gave in last week...amazing...they just come running back
and you know what binds them?
they are motivated more by the feeling of belonging to something here than they are ideology
I will vote for Romney but I sure don't like it and I find his team and the GOP establishment around him disgustingly soft on Obama and weak on the ideology that brung them to the table. Paul Ryan is their bone...a good one and worth getting Mitt elected so Ryan has a chance down the road.
No, honey conservatives do not support liberalism, it is “so called conservatives” who do.
Just look in the mirror that’s you.
Enjoy communism, babe.
Well well, it’s nice to know that I am correct about you - thanks.
You’re welcome.
It’s equally nice to know that I am correct about you.
You are the proverbial frog in a pot of rapidly warming water.
But you refuse to reach up out of the pot to turn the dial on the stove down, because you’re little froggy fingers just aren’t strong enough to turn the dial to off in one go.
So instead you simply refuse to turn the dial at all, and the result of your obstinance is clear to everyone except you.
You do not understand how your mortal enemy has used progressivism against you, and you further do not understand how you can use progressivism against them.
When an enemy defeats you using a superior tactic, then you learn that tactic, adopt its mechanisms, and use it against them.
The democrats cannot swallow their own medecine, in fact it makes them choke.
But you are too arrogant and smug to realize any of what I have told you. You are ignorant of your dire situation, and you are so smug about your ignorance that you deserve to be defeated by your enemy.
You deserve it.
You are apparently just a scared little person, who has abandoned everything they say they believe in out of fear.
I do not live in fear, I live in truth.
You are free to chose the person you feel will save you from this fear, that is your right, just as it is my right to reject liberalism.
Good bye, do what you need to do, I am going to the beach and enjoy the rest of the summer.
Enjoy the warm water, babe.
You deserve it.
