According to the UM website, Fall 2011 undergraduate enrollment at the College Park campus was 26,826 students.
If a similar number is assumed for Fall 2012, then the 850 bigots who signed this petition represent slightly more than 3% of the undergraduate student body.
And I’m willing to bet that not all of those 850 signatories are UM students.

There was a running back that signed with Auburn over Clemson because Clemson did not have a Chick-Fil-A.
NOW its getting serious!

There is a very good reason why democrats target college and high-school students as one of their primary constituencies. They're young, dumb, idealistic. They haven't matured yet, and democrats need to target them at a young age, when they're still very pliable and unthinking and don't have the time and patience to follow through on the consequences of their decisions. They don't have the years of wisdom that it takes to make informed and intelligent decisions. Thus, they're the ideal constituency for the democrats.

If you want someplace to go away, DON’T SHOP THERE. Then wait.
But liberals don’t operate that way... It is their viewpoint, only, which counts, and ‘compromise’ means giving them only most of what they want.

850? Hahahahaha! I got more signatures than that **by myself** on a nominating petition for General Al Haig in Iowa back in 1987 in ONE DAY without breaking a sweat, and I took a long lunch break!! Before the Internet! That was one person at a time! That’s the best they can do? Sad.

That's less than 3% of the total students.......that pretty well represents the homosexual populace and that's about all.

which makes the numbers of signatures (legitimate or not) at about 2%. toss in faculty and staff, and there probably right at a raging 1% demand to remove a tasty chicken sandwich store.

I was at Chick-Fil-A for lunch today, though NOT at this specific MD location.
I'd guess that in the hour or so I spent there, a couple of hundred people cycled through the restaurant. That'd include those who were there when I arrived (it was full) and those who came through while I ate (it was still full when I left). And this was nothing special, just an average Monday Lunch crowd.
Kind of puts the "850" number into perspective, I think.

It sure does, especially now that we know the 850 make up only 3 % of the student body pop. - about the same % that the gays make of the human pop.

Frigging hell it doesn;t matter what name you put it matters how many signatures they get so they can report how many and you;ve just added a couple more[shakes head in disbelief] You are wrong. The sames are public and are printed out when it is presented. Someone should script 1,000 "signatures" with Star Wars, LOTR and other characters.
