To All:
The events of the last 24 hours illustrate why I'm not a Republican. I'm tired of being expected to defend the indefensible and stupid actions of Republicans.
I'm somebody totally different. I'm an Independent Conservative. I don't shoot myself in the foot, head, butt, or leg on purpose.
With Rep. Todd Akin saying something totally insane and suicidal politically, the RNC Platform committee backs him up with the most egregious plank I can think of.
Ryan and Romney, it can be argued, agree with Akin and the RNC platform. Very easy to demagogue and to change the subject away from jobs and the economy.
Memo to hard right-wing anti-abortion no matter what Republicans, this election isn't about you! Not this time!
Republicans are just as stupid as Bill Mahre, Chris Matthews, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, and CBS says they are.
Why can't the Republicans act smart and go win an election that's rightfully theirs? All they have to do is not screw up.
This election is about the following: Jobs Developing domestic energy independence The economy Cutting spending Reducing the size of government Cutting spending Lower Taxes Stop Illegal immigration and voter fraud Standing with Israel The next man who will replace at least two Supreme Court Justices Protecting the Second Amendment
The RNC needs to back way off the abortion issue. Quit supplying daily options to the Obama campaign to change the subject away from their own record.
Obama is playing Republicans like a Stradivarius. Republicans have ADHD and simply cannot focus on the goal long enough to win.
It's no longer about the obvious bias of the left-wing lame-stream media. It's about irresponsible republicans that I don't think really want to win. They're in this for themselves and they're own power.
I will vote Republican as I always do. I now feel that we have lost our chance of retaking the Senate by now losing Missouri and I also think Romney will lose due to a backlash on stupidity, which the Republicans are surely guilty.
Please tell me why I'm wrong, if you think you have a better argument.
Regards to all.
This seems to go beyond anything Akin said. You like killing babies? That may be “Independent,” but it’s not “Conservative.”
What does platform say?
Being absolutely pro-life is essential to our free Republic and I don't mean only the website of that name. The Bible clearly states: "Thou shalt not murder". This is a non-negotiable matter.
There are moral absolutes and abortionists are every bit as wrong as the sodomites. Conservatives must stand by the principles upon which America was founded.
Demonstrating stoopitity one post per year.
Or just slow.....
Once again, the Republicans destroying one of our own. The guy mispeaks, but that cannot be forgiven. The guy is all about saving innocent human life; he hasn’t hurt anybody, but nope, he mispoke, and that cannot be tolerated...even by members of the Stupid party!
And we have the stones to bit*h about the GOP-e? We are a freakin joke! If we lose the Senate, we’re history!
You, Sir, are no Conservative.
My, you’ve been here a very long time, even by my standards. 37 replies in 15 years? To what do we owe the pleasure, may I ask?
The problem is that Akin chose to assume the mantle of advocate for the cause when he was obviously not prepared to do so, and in so doing has had an adverse effect on the movement.
It's like an American History teacher who is so miserably boring and unprepared that his students come to hate American History. The problem is not in the curriculum, but only the presenter.
Spineless wimp.
If you're a nation of baby killers then none of the rest matters. If you aren't aware of the 3 kinds of judgement God hands out, you should at least check out judgement by abandonment and what it has meant for those nations who have turned their back on Him.
What does platform say?
##
It says you shouldn’t kill babies for the crimes of their parents.
Well, for one thing, the republican party has always been the party for LIFE. Love it or not, that has been a draw for a lot of us former democrats. I don;t like the RINOs in the party, nor do I like the Log Cabin republicans trying to rewrite the republican plank to demand same-sex marriage. We DO need a difference between us and the democrats. The dems win on all issues of social importance if one is just looking for total immoral freedom, and freedom from any consequences in your choices. That is NOT freedom, regardless of who says it is, but a bondage that is like slavery.
FYI, Todd Akin was asked the question to trip him up...like they do to all republicans. They try to get you to say something the dems can take to the bank. The dems have forced the questions on all these issues, bringing them up, themselves, not the republicans. They are asking us, we are not making these our issues. But, the dems cannot stand that. They know that if they can get a republican to say ANYTHING at all on a social issue they can use it, even if it means editing it to say anything but what was actually said. Same with the issue of birth control. This was never brought up by a republican, but it WAS asked by a moderator at a debate, as if there had been a bill introduced. It was a ploy by the democrats to make it look like the republicans were going to act on it. This is all smoke and mirrors. You’re being duped by the media.
Akin was not prepared, and his answer even today says that he still has his head in the ground. I have NOT read one thing in support of his actions. EVERYBODY has asked him to step down. You must be a democrat, yourself, trying to rip everybody here.
The RNC must remain rock hard firm on abortion and same-sex “marriage”.
This year I’ll be voting for a platform, not a person.
Or not. Sorry, no go. Try again...
I’m against abortion as much as anyone on this site.
We cannot save the unborn if we are not in power.
We cannot defend the Constitution when democrats are selecting supreme court judges.
For your information, God knows how I feel about abortion. I share your fear of God’s judgment on America if we fail.
We are not enemies.
I don't disagree, but it sends me running to Him for mercy: "Unless the LORD Almighty had left us some survivors, we would have become like Sodom, we would have been like Gomorrah." Isaiah 1:9
Got any fingernails left? LOL. Another nailbiter who fears liberal opinion more than he fears God (from Whom the right to life derives, without Whose blessing we would not enjoy your nail-biting rant).
Times are a changing. You may be pleasantly surprised what good takes place in spite of your fears.
