Davidson College in North Carolina has become the first university in the nation to prevent Chick-fil-A from being served on campus.
A liberal arts college in North Carolina has become the first in the nation to prevent Chick-fil-A from being served at campus events over the restaurant's indirect support of pro-family groups perceived by some as anti-gay.
The student organization that controls student funds at Davidson College made the decision last week to prevent the sandwiches from being served at a series of events called After Midnight, when students circulated a petition expressing outrage over a Chick-fil-As owners monetary donations to groups including Focus on the Family and the Family Research Council.

Probably not. As a private college, they can pretty much do anything they want regarding suppliers to college functions. (That might be different if it were a state university.)
Let them eat chicken sandwiches made from the offspring of queer chickens.
Opps there > their
Looks like CFA joins Sarah Palin as a “winnowing fork”.
The sensationalized headline and breathless “reporting” makes a mountain out of a molehill. One, this is a student run group buying sandwhiches for late night events. There is no “preventing”. Buried deep in the article (apparently having gone to the NY Times school of biased reporting):
Bill Giduz, a spokesperson for Davidson College, told Campus Reform that although a formal decision has not yet been made there could be a firm decision in coming weeks
Well, you know the union board may have informally decided that. They may have talked among themselves and said until they have a chance to talk about it, lets not serve Chick-fil-A. That may be the case, said Giduz. But, as far as I know, they have not made any formal statement.
This is not an action by the school, it is not even a formal action by the student board. It is a group of goofy college kids buying sandwiches. If I know Davidson, one of the more conservative frats will probably have a party that exclusively serves Chick Fil A.
BTW that is not a picture of a Chick Fil A at Davidson, there is no Chick Fil A at Davidson.
We live in California and our son received one of the coveted Carolina scholarships from Chapel Hill(basically a free ride) and graduated from UNC’s business school 4 years ago. By the time he graduated, he was so fed up with the extreme far left that permeates the whole school that he swears that he will never give them a single penny...
You are correct. We are in a dark age of man.
Minority is majority.
Conformity is independence.
Uniformity is freedom.
Consensus equates truth.
Freedom of thought is sin.
Vulgarity is art.
Truth is shameful. Obfuscation is righteous.
God has no opinion.
We’re getting close to the bottom. Personally, I can’t wait.

This November they will hear us, we are:
CHICK-FIL-A VOTERS...
A civil rights suit needs to be filed in federal court against any university that does this.
There was never any mention of corporate policies, only the personal religious views of the owner of the company, and he’s being harassed for his religious views by a state run school, a clear violation of the 1st amendment of the Constitution.

Oops, I misread that... I thought it was a state school.

Thanks for linking. Campus Pride has a chilling agenda.
Call it what it is...religious persecution.
If the college gets any government support they are in violation of the 1st Amendment.
I stopped donating to IU during the Myles Brand reign of terror as well.

Headline is misleading. Makes you think an actual Chick Fil A store is getting ejected from their campus. In reality it’s just a bunch of activist snots announcing that they’ll no longer be spending Student Activity Fees on catering from CFA.
so...
Scratch another college off the list of those you want to recruit from, or accept applications from when you are hiring at a big corporation (and want to do serious business rather than gay outreach)
If my kid went to this school, he/she would be yanked out so fast the ink wouldn’t be dry on the tuition check.
Nothing but an institution training mind-numbed robots to be intolerant commies.
Yes, I did glean that after the cursory first read, and guess I am guilty of jumping on their headline too quickly.
Bingo. Universities that push this crap should have their financial tap shut off...well, parents?

The parents that send their kids to this college are as liberal as the college typically.
My nephew attends Davidson and thinks 0drama is the best thing that ever happened to this country. His father is an oil company executive in AK and even he supports the current _resident of the White House, which is surprising considering the war that’s been declared on the oil companies since 0drama moved in.
My newphew and his father visited no less than 10 colleges before choosing Davidson and the son chose this one not only for what they offered academically, but because most of the students he met ‘thought like me’ according to him.
Their parents are probably celebrating CFA being told to leave.
