The sensationalized headline and breathless “reporting” makes a mountain out of a molehill. One, this is a student run group buying sandwhiches for late night events. There is no “preventing”. Buried deep in the article (apparently having gone to the NY Times school of biased reporting):
Bill Giduz, a spokesperson for Davidson College, told Campus Reform that although a formal decision has not yet been made there could be a firm decision in coming weeks
Well, you know the union board may have informally decided that. They may have talked among themselves and said until they have a chance to talk about it, lets not serve Chick-fil-A. That may be the case, said Giduz. But, as far as I know, they have not made any formal statement.
This is not an action by the school, it is not even a formal action by the student board. It is a group of goofy college kids buying sandwiches. If I know Davidson, one of the more conservative frats will probably have a party that exclusively serves Chick Fil A.
BTW that is not a picture of a Chick Fil A at Davidson, there is no Chick Fil A at Davidson.
Yes, I did glean that after the cursory first read, and guess I am guilty of jumping on their headline too quickly.
