A pleasant surprise. For once Bob Beckel actually making sense.
I love THE FIVE and I DVR the show everyday to watch later. They are the smartest, funniest folks on television and I love Bob, too. You can tell his heart is really not in his defense of the Obama administration. His statements and his rationales are nuts and anyone who knows anything about what is going on can pick that up. I suspect these five and their alternates are buddies who have a great time together off the set. When Bob gets out of line, he gets taken to the woodshed PRONTO!
Beckel is a MEAN, CYNICAL guy.....Plus he;s a HUGE LIAR! I MUTE The FIVE when he is on.
He was on Sunday nite Crossfire with Lynne Cheney and he was always so mean and rude to her, that he would have to apologize after the commercial!!
I like the “Five” but can’t stand Bob who is a foul mouth wacko who appears either insane or drunk most of the time. I have to mute to get past his crazy remarks. I wish they could find a decent Democrat for the show but maybe there isn’t any.
I know, I was a member of that church when I lived in DC. I?ve heard Bob Beckel?s Christian testimony?and its real.
Pray tell how his behavior squares with his "new found faith". Hard to see any evidence in his public behavior.
Like a great many alcoholics/former alcoholics he's a dry drunk. Alcohol was not his problem, character flaws were and remain his problem. The booze was his excuse for his behavior. "I didn't mean to say or do that, demon rum made me do it.". Well, supposedly he's now dry, yet the behavior is unchanged. His words are as poisonous and vitriolic as before. So I ask, where is the manifestation of his new found faith?
You say you know his church. Well then name it. Obama supposedly attended a Christian church for twenty years lead by his Rev. Wright. Will you excuse Obama on the grounds of his faith?
“I am probably one of the few on this site that like The Five.”
Count me in, too. I may not always agree with them, but it is fun.
Dont watch “the Five” very often but
Beckel has seemed subdued lately, I figured he was finally on antidepressants and getting the therapy he needs, not from a bottle. The other hosts of “the Five” treat him very well
Learning from the Turks we took the Islamic Caliphate after WWI and tore it apart into dozens of new countries!
That simplified the military aspects of what amounts to a continuing Western occupation ~ they occupy themselves and keep down the total aggregate level of violence directed at us. We can then focus only on the serious trouble spots.
Unfortunately OIL gets in the way of being able to do the job neatly, but the general outline has worked well since the dissolution of the Caliphate.
He is 'old' Democrat; and no question, he is 'authentic'. One can not doubt his sincerity; nor for that matter; his myopia per his own Party politics. As often as I get disgusted by him; I just cannot 'not' like him.
Beckel is definitely a dry drunk. I’ve known many over the years. Typically a person that dry, not sober, and that angry won’t stay dry.
Personally, I don’t understand how anyone can be a Christian and a democrat.
I can stand The Five when Juan Williams subs for the obnoxious Beefy Bob.
One can disagree without being disagreeable, or something like that.
Any fallout from Beckel labeling Jews as “diamond merchants”?
That is very good to know. Thanks.
That may be so, but he regularly violates the 2nd, 9nth and 10nth Commandments.
I like the the Five, too. Its pretty spontaneous and I like that.
He’s basically scum.
He was recently on FoxNews (I Believe it was ‘the Five’) and he fired off some vitriol that would have gotten any Right Wing person fired. He had to apologize once again.
I’d take him off the air.
This was the same episode he made a comment about Romney going to Israel to gather money from “diamond merchants.” It was a bad day for him, and the muslim comments seemed like fake (or exaggerated) outrage to me.
Oh, you’ve seen Beckel bowing down to idols, lying, and coveting?
Just because leaders in the Democrat party do that...and people gullibly believe them, doesn’t make Democrat-believers guilty....sorry.
It’s wrong to mix partisan politics and religion.
I am happy Mr. Beckel has had, according to your information, a change of heart regarding Christ. But political belief and religious belief are in fact inseparable. Not in the denominational sense, of course, but in the natural law sense, upon which our Constitution and its form of government is based.
As for Mr. Beckel’s conformance to the Ten Commandments, I take him to be a sincere person who has up till now expressed an uncritical support for people and ideas which clearly do run against the divine law.
Socialism in particular, especially when it has metastasized to communism, is the setting up of the State as a direct and intentional substitute for God, from whom one is expected to derive all sustenance, all moral guidance, even the creation or destruction of any and all rights. This is brazen idolatry, and violates both the first and the second commandments.
The tenth commandment is to not covet your neighbors stuff. Yet socialism demands covetousness as a requirement of its evangelists, because it is for lack of having my neighbors income, or my neighbor’s genes, or my neighbor’s gender, that I am supposed to acquire the “moral courage” to demand equality. Nothing could be more profoundly anti-God, and more like something forged in the bowels of Hades, than this requirement of socialism to defy the very heart of Gods law.
As for lying (or more precisely bringing false testimony against one’s neighbor), I am happy to give Mr. Beckel the benefit of the doubt and assume he is personally honest as far as any fallen human can be. But again, socialism, because it defies the natural law, is denying reality itself, and is necessarily built on a foundation of lies, and requires its best practitioners to use lies as a means of “creating new truth.”
Therefore, to the extent Mr. Beckel is a “true believer,” he is merely an innocent dupe of more obscure and cynical figures hiding in the shadows. But to the extent he uses party spin without a moral reference point to check him, he must own that as contributing with intent to the deception of innocent people.
Conversion experiences are great, but if God is genuinely involved, there will be profound changes to how a person conducts their life. The Holy Spirit will not leave a person comfortable with evil. If he has become a person led by God’s Spirit, I have every confidence he will eventually forsake the public evil of his support for liberal policies and persons. But all in God’s good time.
Bob Bekel hasn't gone nuts, he's gone honest and real - won't go over well with his liberal friends...
That said, even when the spouting liberal garbage, he's basically a good man. In the old days there were liberals who believed in making the world better - not just saying it so they could con ignorant victim groups... Beckel's from that earlier group...
