The word is going out quietly to Republican activists across New Jersey: If youre going to the GOP convention in Tampa next month, be sure to be there by Tuesday night, Aug. 28, because Gov. Chris Christie is going to be giving the keynote speech that night.
Weve been told thats the night to be there, thats when the governor is going to speak. Theyre saying hes the keynoter, one top party activist told The Post yesterday.

“Um, hes only going to give a speech.”
Um, an influential speech, not just any speech.
Blah, blah, blah. Just a bunch of sophistry on your part. Unlike you, I don’t place party over country, that’s what Communists do.
Thank you for proving that you are are blinded by your own arrogance.
I never said you should vote for Romney. I never said I would vote for Romney. I never said we should blindly support the GOP.
But, because my arguments hit home, you flail about with childish accusations that I put party first.
You have demonstrated exactly what I wanted. Thanks.
reince preibus and the rnc manufactured certain primaries to be open to dims and independents to vote in them. reince then played loose and fast with the way certain electors in certain states were counted and disbursed... and then he and mitt conspired with certain Secretaries of State to keep his two closest competitors off the ballots in those States... VA and MO for example... then mitt spent 10’s of millions of dollars in false attack ads in Florida and lied about Newt... when it comes to obama and mitt could tell the truth and attack with the same ferocity... he refuses.
mitt is the presumptive nominee because the gop/e wanted him to be the nominee... just like Dole and mccain. They control the process and the outcome... regardless of what you say or think.
You and the gop/e can moan and bitch about Conservatives and our complaints and concerns... Conservatives that have had enough... after decades of lies and corruption... you despise us and treat us worse than you do dims like pelosi and reid... and because of this ill treatment... your party will have to EARN the Conservative vote... it will never be given freely again.
LLS
You poor baby! You can’t handle that the RINOs have more control over the rules of game because conservatives have not taken over the inner workings of the party like I have been advocating for a decade!
But you absolutely ignore the bottom line FACTS.
If conservatives coalesced around any one candidate by January, Romney would not have had a chance, despite his slimy ads and shenanigans.
THAT was the real problem.....not the GOP setup of open primaries, etc, which are minor in comparison.
But everytime a decently conservative candidate would emerge as the front-runner, other conservatives cut them down as not good enough or some other minor infraction of conservatism.
We are our own worst enemy in all of this.
Thanks Sir Napsalot.
Your boy is likely going to lose to the worst president that we have ever endured... not because conservatives refused to vote for him... but because he is just that bad. You do not cure a lethal cancer by infecting the host with another lethal cancer... even if it is slower to metastasize. I will be voting for every Conservative candidate on my ballot... mitt romney will not be one of them.
Instead of wasting your time trying to badger me into doing something that would damn my soul... go and watch the following video links. This is the pos in his own words and skin... the very man that you are attacking fellow conservatives over. We are going to need each other soon... either way this election goes... America will have to be rebuilt and made great once again. Do you think that the progressives in either party will help you?

This first sentence shows you have ZERO comprehension skills or you are a two-bit liar.
I never defended Romney. I never encouraged anyone to vote for Romney. I never said a good thing about Romney.
My post has NOTHING to do with Romney!
Either you are using liberal tactics of changing the subject or you are too dull to understand my post.
I really don't care either way.
LLS
You still do not understand.
I will try this one more time so maybe you can get it.
My point is that those most responsible for Romney are conservatives, not the GOP/e.
We did not coalesce around a candidate early enough.
Romney had no support in the early primaries as most of the GOP rank and file did not like him and wanted an alternative.
But when Bachmann rose to the top, other conservatives cut her down.
When Perry rose to the top, other conservatives cut him down.
When Cain rose to the top, other conservatives cut him down.
When Gingrich rose to the top, other conservatives cut him down.
By that point, enough people figured all that was left was Romney.
Yes, Romney helped us destroy our own with his lies and shenanigans. Karl Rove and others helped Romney to destroy decent conservatives.
But those most at fault are conservatives ourselves.
If we had stuck with one candidate, regardless, that candidate would have been the nominee, not Romney.
I am complaining about conservatives, like you, who blame others, when the bulk of the blame belongs squarely on our own shoulders as conservatives.
You were here on FR. You saw how we were cutting each other up and down. You saw the Perry camp, the Gingrich camp, etc and those who cut them down.
While none were perfect, anyone of that group would have been far, far superior to Romney.
Conservatives were too busy dissecting each other's choices for that to happen.
Conservatives do not sit around blaming others for their own mistakes. I thought we leared after McCain, but we repeated the same mistake.....we never got behind a single conservative candidate.
Are there elements within the GOP that hate conservatives? Of course! They have always been there and they always will be. It is up to conservatives to take over the party and force them to follow us.
But conservatives have not done it. The Tea Party was a good start, at the local level, where conservatives could overpower the GOP/e and push a candidate past the primary process and into office.
But the Tea Party does not have that power at the national level....yet. That is where our efforts must go, not into childish conspiracy theories and finger-pointing.
We conservatives only have ourselves to blame for our inability to get behind a single candidate and push them to the nomination.
I am not advocating anyone vote for Romney or support the GOP. My point is completely different and I hope you can understand it better now.
Amen.....
It matters not... mitt and his manufactured coronation is no different than every other election of my adult, voting lifetime... all but Reagan's two.
mitt is an evil baby killing socialist, gun grabbing, big spending member of a science fiction cult and I will not be voting for him due to these stated reasons as well as all of the evidence that I supplied to you in video form.
Quite frankly... with the terrorist attack in Aurora and the BBC reporting a man of "INDIAN" Pakistani descent... and the media claiming that this guy acted as a lone wolf... no signs of terrorism... no statement of ethnicity and explosives found on the scene and eye witness accounts of a second perp... I do not care to discuss willard any more today. It seems we have had another muslim attack on the USA and everyone in power and everyone in the media are lying about it... and the media is screaming for more GUN CONTROL. willard can wait a day or two.
LLS
Gov. Crispy Cream of NJ is absolutely the wrong OPTIC for the party. He will represent a party which is out of touch with starving poor people.
