It has everything to do with romney and the infected gop/e. That is how this all started and that is how it will finish. Ignore me if you do not like my words... I am not leaving and neither is Jim Robinson. FR will never be pro romney... many may vote for him but this is not a gop site and FR is not romney country.

You still do not understand.

I will try this one more time so maybe you can get it.

My point is that those most responsible for Romney are conservatives, not the GOP/e.

We did not coalesce around a candidate early enough.

Romney had no support in the early primaries as most of the GOP rank and file did not like him and wanted an alternative.

But when Bachmann rose to the top, other conservatives cut her down.

When Perry rose to the top, other conservatives cut him down.

When Cain rose to the top, other conservatives cut him down.

When Gingrich rose to the top, other conservatives cut him down.

By that point, enough people figured all that was left was Romney.

Yes, Romney helped us destroy our own with his lies and shenanigans. Karl Rove and others helped Romney to destroy decent conservatives.

But those most at fault are conservatives ourselves.

If we had stuck with one candidate, regardless, that candidate would have been the nominee, not Romney.

I am complaining about conservatives, like you, who blame others, when the bulk of the blame belongs squarely on our own shoulders as conservatives.

You were here on FR. You saw how we were cutting each other up and down. You saw the Perry camp, the Gingrich camp, etc and those who cut them down.

While none were perfect, anyone of that group would have been far, far superior to Romney.

Conservatives were too busy dissecting each other's choices for that to happen.

Conservatives do not sit around blaming others for their own mistakes. I thought we leared after McCain, but we repeated the same mistake.....we never got behind a single conservative candidate.

Are there elements within the GOP that hate conservatives? Of course! They have always been there and they always will be. It is up to conservatives to take over the party and force them to follow us.

But conservatives have not done it. The Tea Party was a good start, at the local level, where conservatives could overpower the GOP/e and push a candidate past the primary process and into office.

But the Tea Party does not have that power at the national level....yet. That is where our efforts must go, not into childish conspiracy theories and finger-pointing.

We conservatives only have ourselves to blame for our inability to get behind a single candidate and push them to the nomination.

I am not advocating anyone vote for Romney or support the GOP. My point is completely different and I hope you can understand it better now.
