George Zimmermans defense attorney filed a motion Friday asking that the judge on his case be disqualified.
Claiming the judge has shown bias and made disparaging remarks about Zimmerman, attorney Mark OMara said he no longer has faith in Seminole County Circuit Judge Kenneth R. Lester.

Anybody who has ever watched a TV courtroom drama knew that this motion was comming after the judge opened his trap and charactarized the defendent’s demeanor in his courtroom.
I agree if it HADN’T happened, you would know that the defense was just going through the motions and Zimmerman was likely roadkill.
beats me. but one thing I can tell ya.. Poor George is not going to get a fair trial ANYWHERE.
“That this has finally happened somewhat renews my faith in this man’s defense atty - but, why so damned late in the game?!”
Just a guess, but maybe he’s doing his own paperwork so it can’t all be leaked?
Have to figure Big Media and Big Brother Holder have him pretty well staked out and watched on our dime.
One thing though: If you pull this trigger and fail, you have a newly-annoyed judge.
True. it’s also fodder for the appeal if the judge remains.
The NEXT thing this atty needs to do is fight for a change of venue - that should have happened long long ago too.
This really isn’t “late” in my opinion. The trial will not happen (if there is a trial) until 2013. If Zim had asked for it right away it would have looked like a knee jerk reaction, imo.
Things have to occur before this can be requested. No doubt Lester oveerplayed his hand. He is indeed prejudice against Zimmerman. Wonder who paid him off. Anything else is illogical.
wed see a lot more common sense and less egomania and a lot more justice
.
You're right. But after even a cursory reading of his July 5th Order Setting Bail, it is hard to imagine that he can get anymore annoyed than he already is. So they might as well go for it.
About time. The guy is obviously trying to railroad George Zimmerman. Time for a change of venue to another state while they’re at it. Maybe Missouri, Idaho or Texas.
Also, you can bet that O'Mara's getting the best of advice and assistance from top-notch attorneys across the country who want to lend a hand.....no doubt even Harvard's famed lawyer, Alan O'Dershowitz, who came out of the gate early on in Mr. Z's favor.

The lead Sanford Police investigator who sought manslaughter charges against George Zimmerman told the FBI that a sergeant and two other officers tried to pressure him into making an arrest in the controversial case even though he didnt think there was enough evidence
Serino, a 15-year veteran of the department who was a major-crimes investigator, was demoted last month to overnight patrol.
There are many biased and corrupt and/or incompetent judges.
For example, 5 of the 9 U.S.Supreme Court justices.
In Court, one can have the best lawyer and be 100 percent in the right and still get injustice if the judge is unjust.
Been there, done that, got the screw job.
“One thing though: If you pull this trigger and fail, you have a newly-annoyed judge.”
Which lays the ground for a decent appeal.

One way to ensure an evenhanded judge is threats of impeachment, loss of pension and 10 years in prison, but we need a congress with stones for that.
Thaddeus Stevens (April 4, 1792 August 11, 1868), chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, was a master at threatening federal judges. He had whale balls.
