This really isn’t “late” in my opinion. The trial will not happen (if there is a trial) until 2013. If Zim had asked for it right away it would have looked like a knee jerk reaction, imo.
If (and I dearly hope, when) Obama is knocked out of office in 2013, even by the Mittster, a whole lot of this racist hounding of the politicians down there in Sanford will go away. Deprived of the cover, the state will fold, with a private grateful sigh to be rid of the burden.
