Unbelievable! Tammy Duckworth Swiftboated!
http://johnkerry.com | 7/3/12 | John F'n Kerry (who served in Vietnam, you know)

Posted on 07/03/2012 7:55:25 PM PDT by pabianice

Requires no explanation -- veterans who lost two legs in war are heroes, period -- seriously please just help beat this guy!

From: Jon Soltz Subject: Unbelievable! Tammy Duckworth Swiftboated! Date: Tue, Jul 3, 2012 at 2:15 PM

I was just getting ready for tomorrow's July 4th celebrations when I heard Rep. Joe Walsh's latest smears and had to let you know. Tammy Duckworth needs our support!

He's said many disgraceful things about Tammy, her service and veterans in the past, but this is beyond the pale - on the eve of the 4th of July, Joe Walsh wants vets to shut up about their service.

You can read the transcript of Walsh's comments and watch a video at ThinkProgress.

Please join us in helping Tammy Duckworth fight back by making a contribution to her campaign!

On the eve of our nation's birthday, let's show Tammy that we've got her back.

Sincerely, Jon Soltz Iraq War Veteran Chairman, VoteVets.org

“Or did you think Kerry’s service was “untouchable” as well?”

As with another poster, try reading the body of my posts instead of my response to one individual.

You just might understand what I’m saying.

“He’s calling her to account for her positions on ISSUES rather than her victimhood.”

No, that is the mistake he made. If he had remained on the issues, only, he wouldn’t have a problem.

He “did” point out her victimhood relating to her service.

It was not needed. Socialist don’t care about right or wrong, only sensitivities.

“your stance is typical won’t fight back talk which has helped get us defeated over and over and which if Romney doesn’t get his head in the game will happen yet again”

How is my admonition to stay with “issues” and not her service not “fighting” back?

If she has no shame, you’re not going to shame her.

If she has no issues, when there are clearly issues, then you have caught her flat-footed.

*** Can anyone tell me the value of this kind of political attack simply to gain office? ***

Sure. Because I live in IL near where Tammy 'I Served In Iraq & Was Wounded' Duckworth lives and wants to run.

First of all, from her first run for Congress in 2006 she's used her 'wounded Iraq war veteran' status like Jesse and Rev Al use the Race Card. She's rabidly anti gun (she's a raving Moonbat) and wants more gun laws in IL, like a complete assault weapon ban. And when her first opponent confronted her on that STOO-PID idea she played her 'Wounded Veteran Card' and the 'I know those guns and you don't' bullcrap. She lost that election. Then iirc she tried again in 08 and used the same wounded vet sympathy card: 'I lost my legs in battle, Vote for me please'. And I believe again in 2010. Since then she's worked in the Barry O'Bammy Admin. (point is; she's run for congress a lot, always lost, and ALWAYS used her service as an election ploy.)

The fact is Tammy Duckworth is a far leftist Moonbat and uses her service and her wounds as a crutch (no pun). She practically begs for votes just on that - and No Guns in IL. She's a female John Kerry, only with real wounds, combined with a Rev Al & JJ race card player. So Joe Walsh was 100% correct. All Tammy will talk about is HER and her wounds. Not any issues that wil help IL or the District she's now running for. And by her own actions she's on the line of 'not being a REAL hero' (like the 99% Former Marines vs the 1% 'ex-Marines'). I know REAL Heroes, from that Vietnam thing, and they won't say shit about what they went through and had to do to survive. (1)

(1) Like my 'BFF' Den who was 7 days 'short'. He went on Patrol then ambushed by an NVA Regiment. He was one of about a dozen who made it back alive after that firefight -- out of an entire Infantry Company. I was the only one of 'the gang' he told that incident too. Those guys he only told about the 'typical firefights' with Tracers flying both ways and Claymores going off.
(I pray for Den a lot, he's got PTSD and BAD, but will not, and never did go begging for FedGov money or 'help'. His wife was and is his strength and support. Now that's a HERO!)

[please excuse any errors in the above. I'm typing with my Fender Stratocaster around my neck]

“All Tammy will talk about is HER and her wounds.”

This is exactly my point.

Patiently point out her avoidance of issues without bringing up her self-obsorbtion with her veteran service is not the way to go.

Stay with the issues.

The difference between her and Kerry is that he is a liar, she is not, even if she is disgusting in her manner.

Mr. Walsh won't win this by point her behavior out...only the issues will sink her.

“What part of this don’t YOU understand?”

What part don’t you understand that is it unnecessary to say anything about it.

Patiently keep her on the issues...she’ll fail.

Just because she angers you doesn’t mean we need to react to the obvious.

Don’t patronize me.....I don’t expect everyone to understand.

Communication is not about everyone understanding....that has never happened.

I’ve gone door-to-door talking to thousands of people in Joe’s district (every person, voter or not) in 8 precincts plus many people in other precincts.

Jobs taxes jobs spending jobs borrowing jobs regulation are the only issues. Anyway Joe can be distracted from the real issues, Joe loses. It has zero to do with whether he is right or wrong on those other topics. They are not his winning issues.

This is the mistake our side makes too often...going off message.

Thank you MinuteGal, well said.

I ‘get’ what the poster is attempting to convey, albeit very poorly, in that focusing on her service/wheelchair etc is a non-issue, yet it appears the poster is missing the larger point in that THAT is all ducky yaps about.

It’s maddening! We are all human and I don’t fault Joe one bit for slipping on this topic as it’s front and center from the loons.

Thanks for the ping. Chicago media jumped all over this. Kathy Brock on ABC is one of the worst. Someone got a blurry video at a small meeting and pushed it all over the media. A Dem gotcha moment. As other Illinois freepers have posted, Tammy’s only campaign issue is her service.

The lib local media will continue to do campaigning for her for free. I heard Joe and Tammy in a debate on the radio. She was awful. A commentator for the station stated it was a good showing for Tammy. That it gave her good “practice” for what to say in debates closer to the election. No comments on how well Joe Walsh answered the questions. The coverage for her is sickening, even by Illinois standards.

You are right. It does no good to even mention what she is doing with her service and war injuries. It just makes her opponent look bad, EVEN IF TRUE.

“EVEN IF TRUE”

It’s a little thing called prudence.

Because someone is a self-absorbed user of her war experience, it doesn’t track that anything needs to be said.

Prudence gives her a rope to politically hang herself.

Saying anything in the vein of “I call BS” is merely impatience.

I jut saw him on O’Reilly interview with Laura Ingraham (who is filling in). He explained that it was a Townhall Meeting and he was responding to a question.

Anyway, he’ absolutely GORGEOUS!!!

They both point to character, or lack thereof. So in that sense, they are similar in showing poor character.

I read nothing that Walsh said that denegrates her service, but I do read negative commentary about her character.

Just because she served, and just because she may have served heroicly, does not make her immune to negative comments about her character, if her character is suspect.
