Requires no explanation -- veterans who lost two legs in war are heroes, period -- seriously please just help beat this guy!
From: Jon Soltz Subject: Unbelievable! Tammy Duckworth Swiftboated! Date: Tue, Jul 3, 2012 at 2:15 PM
I was just getting ready for tomorrow's July 4th celebrations when I heard Rep. Joe Walsh's latest smears and had to let you know. Tammy Duckworth needs our support!
He's said many disgraceful things about Tammy, her service and veterans in the past, but this is beyond the pale - on the eve of the 4th of July, Joe Walsh wants vets to shut up about their service.
You can read the transcript of Walsh's comments and watch a video at ThinkProgress.
Please join us in helping Tammy Duckworth fight back by making a contribution to her campaign!
On the eve of our nation's birthday, let's show Tammy that we've got her back.
Sincerely, Jon Soltz Iraq War Veteran Chairman, VoteVets.org

When you go to Thinkprogress.com it locks you into donating to Obama before you are allowed in. Anyone have the video?

We need to keep Joe Walsh!!! I thank Duckworth for her sacrifice but doesn’t mean she should be in Congress if she supports Obama!

“I thank Duckworth for her sacrifice”
“BUT.....if she supports Obama!”
Sounds like lip service.
I really don’t care about her affiliation with Obama...tell Mr. Walsh he’s out of line.
She served. In my book, if you simply serve your country without deployment....you have my highest respect.
Did she serve honorably? If yes, then why does anyone have a problem reprimanding a Republican for these comments......whether or not he is “NEEDED”!
Can anyone tell me the value of this kind of political attack simply to gain office?

Not sure about VoteVets, but Tammy Duckworth, while she served honorably in the armed forces, is a very leftwing politically. She was originally part of the Rod Blagojevich crew of Illinois state agency appointees - that ought to be a big warning flag for anyone who is thinking about voting for her, left or right.

Rep. Joe Walsh Statement on Duckworth Attack Friends, My opponents are once again trying to accuse me of something that is not true. It has become their agenda this Fourth of July week to twist my words and claim I said my opponent is not a hero and have insulted all veterans as a consequence. Folks, if youre familiar with me and my campaign, you know this is utterly false. Shame on her for saying this and shame on her for using veterans in this fashion. In fact, recently on the Big John and Amy Show I stated, Tammy Duckworths service demands our respect and that is something I will do and say for her throughout this campaign. I open all my town halls byrecognizing our veterans who served to protect our great nation. Tammy Duckworth knows this and should know better than to use her service and the service of others as a political ploy to distort my words and distract voters. We as a people are facing great problems in our country, and it is time for us to get serious and address them. Just so you are all aware, I released the following statement earlier: Of course Tammy Duckworth is a hero. I have called her a hero 100′s of times in the past four months. Just like every man and woman who has worn the uniform, her service demands demands our utmost respect. Thats why I recognize our veterans at the beginning of every one of my public town halls. However, unlike most veterans I have had the honor to meet since my election to Congress, who rarely if ever talk about their service or the combat theyve seen, that is darn near all of what Tammy Duckworth talks about. Her service demands our thanks and respect, but not our vote. She is running for Congress and there are real problems in this country like our massive debt, high unemployment and the Obamacare tax. We are about four months from Election Day and the people of Illinois have no idea where Tammy Duckworth stands on these issues because she dodges debate requests, ignores our invitations to speak at town halls, refuses to talk about solutions, and constantly reminds voters of her war service. Our thoughts and prayers will always be with her for her service and her loss but these are serious times and the people of Illinois deserve to know what she thinks about real issues and what she will do as a Congresswoman. Lets hold Tammy Duckworth and the Democrats accountable for trying these gotcha tactics when so many Americans are looking for solutions to the problems they face. - Joe Doesn't sound out of line to me.

Joe needs to tone it down a bit.I heard the audio of him complaining about her always talking about her military service. Not cool. And of course I don’t want her elected either.

Tammy Duckworth, from day one of entering politics, has tried to use her service to shield her from any criticism, and her supporters slander anyone who does criticize her as attacking her as a veteran, or questioning her patriotism. So, I see no reason to take her word for it this time, when she has done this over and over again in the past.
To: pabianice
I don't know about Walsh, but this woman, Tammy Duckworth, is a far-left radical who shouldn't be allowed anywhere near any levers of power. I Googled her and read her website. All the ills of the country can be solved with the right government program.
Clicky Thing.

He’s really just stating a fact. Not just in this election, but everytime she has unsuccessfully ran for office, her whole campaign strategy was basically a play for sympathy because of her war service and injuries. She’s the one who makes that an issue, not her opponents if they point it out.
To: lack-of-trust
“who rarely if ever talk about their service or the combat theyve seen, that is darn near all of what Tammy Duckworth talks about”
If that’s all she wants to talk about, then let the voters see that for themselves.
If she lacks humility, seriously, what are you going to do?
He should never have gone there.
Someone being obnoxious, as socialists are want to be, is not worth mentioning.
If she won’t talk about the issues and possible solutions, then that is her campaign.
One dimensional.....but why even mention it.
I call this stupidity to even have mentioned it. If Republicans don’t know what the socialists are capable of, then they aren’t smart enough to be elected.
If he can’t smell a trap in this campaign, how is he going to smell a trap once elected.
She served honorably...don’t touch it in any form.
