He’s describing an America that disappeared around 1980. I don’t see it ever coming back. If she’d have so much as swung at one of the little miscreants, she’d be in jail right now. And you and I know it.
2. Titles are important.
. . .
I wondered why they were addressing her as Karen. I think it’s a big mistake for an adult to allow children to address them by their fist name as that alone diminishes adult authority.
You betcha.
Hmm...we didn’t have bus monitors. But there was a pecking order on the bus. I don’t know for certain but I think the principal knew about it — allow one bully to sit in the back, have a whole seat if he wanted, and he’d settle disputes that arose.
I have a relative who WAS a school bus driver and the things she had to put up with. Oh...yeah. One time the kids were being unruly so she stepped on the brakes quickly to get their attention. There was no traffic. What did these children do? They called her a whore. She wrote all of them up to the school. By the way...she had to do this on her own time. What did the school do? She got in trouble for trying to get the kids to behave. The administrators at public (gov’t) schools are a HUGE part of the problem! BTW, my relative gave up and quit. She was spending most of her day writing kids only to have NOTHING done about the obnoxious BRATS! These are the kids we are saving this country for? Maybe they deserve what they get!

The only parent I heard quoted on this was a dad who said his kid had been sufficiently punished by public ridicule. It was the familiar “Kids will be kids” defense. Frankly, I was amazed the kid had a dad at all. (But maybe it was really just Mom’s boyfriend using the title.)
I saw that too. In his mind, his kid is now a victim.
From the above story, one parent did go to Klein’s home to personally apologize to her for his son’s behavior, though. I think that was the right thing to do.
The plain truth is if that woman had in any way defended herself physically (as if she could have done that at all!), she either would have been brutally assaulted by that group of devils or thrown in jail. Personally, I found her stoic behavior to be rather saintly.
The parent who apologized was a start. The really right thing to do would be to drag their kid to her house (by the ear) and make the little darling apologize. After said apology the kid could then spend hours using the mop broom and bucket that mom just happened to have brought with her. While mom sat on the porch and supervised.
These kids have never in their lives had to suffer painful consequences for bad behavior and have no fear of or respect for authority. This entire episode can be laid at the feet of the parents of these monsters.
I hope he dragged the little bastard by his scalp to her front door and made him apologize, too.
“Thats what 13-year-old boys said to a 68-year-old-woman.”
Sadly, on one video, a girl’s voice was saying the most dreadful things.
And if one of the other kids had physically confronted these pukes, that kid would have been suspended for at least a week.
If granny had verbally berated one of the ringleaders, it would have stopped right there. She had no clue, nor any way to deal with the human pestilance. She was useless. Why was she there? Of course, she needed the money.
Agree.
They probably got punished very severely since this went viral.
They lost their I-phones for 4 full hours. . . . . .
My neighbor is named Joe Multiplesyllablealmost unpronouncablelastname, he wants my kids to call him Joe. He is an exception to my rule with the kids.
I am 70 years old and nothing ticks me more off then then when I go to a Beauty shop for a haircut and style and the person who; is at least 40 or 50 years younger then I am, takes my order asks me for my first name. I always tell them I am Mrs (My last name) And make sure the Mrs part is especially loud and clear.
