-- A Democratic congressional official talking to the Associated Press about plans in the Obama administration to proceed with the presidents 2010 health law even if the Supreme Court strikes down its central provision requiring all Americans to either purchase insurance or be enrolled in a government program.
The looming Supreme Court decision on President Obamas 2010 health law has Washington in a state of high anxiety.

We are going to be forced to eat this crap sandwich one way or the other.

With stories like this, the people will begin to think that 0Bama wants to foment an uprising or revolution. It would be wise for this person to come to grips with the oath of office he took, required by Article 2 of the U.S. Constitution, on January 20, 2009, “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” Perhaps the “best of my ability” part was not taken seriously...

Someone enlighten me on this.
The constitution is the supreme law of the land. If SCOTUS strikes down Obamacare, then doesn't that mean it's unconstitutional? If it's unconstitutional, then one second afterwards, isn't the bill illegal? If it's illegal, then doesn't that immediately put the brakes on any Obamacare plans, spending and implementation, whether 'by decree' or executive orders?

Our regional health systems agency just got over 26 million dollars in implementation money, courtesy of Chuck Schumer’s influence. The locals are thrilled to hear the $$ won’t be withdrawn if the Supremes dump 0 Care.
Good article to Google is “Fannie Med” printed in the Wall Street Journal about a week ago.

If the mandate falls, the entire bill will be struck down. First, there is no severability clause by design. Second, how can the supremes evaluate all of the intricacies of what should be kept or not and what the consequences of each decision would be? ===> they cant and they wont.
Let's borrow a line from Nancy Pelosi, and change it slightly:
The SCOTUS needs to kill the mandate, before finding out what's in the bill.
If it's good enough for the democrats to vote that way, it's good enough for the Supremes to vote the other way.

During the “Ramming Speed” scene in Animal House, part of the bedlam included the theft of the marching band leader’s baton. The baton thief then led the marching band down a dead-end alley, and the band just kept marching right along, into the brick wall at the end.
