Rep. Gohmert Demands Answers from Attorney General Holder

Attorney General Eric Holder on Thursday agreed to make what he called "an extraordinary accommodation" to Republicans investigating the botched "Operation Fast and Furious" by turning over department emails he has long insisted deal with internal deliberations and should be protected.
Holder is trying to head off a push by House Republicans to hold him in contempt of Congress for allegedly "stonewalling" their investigation. And he offered to personally brief the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., in the next few days.

In today's news CBS has found those long lost Justice Department emails from Eric Holder regarding "Fast and Furious" program of a misguided gun tracking scheme that saved Millions of American Lives.
Does he believe “Lucy” Holder won’t yank the football this time.
“Lucy” Holder...hmmmm....there’s a cartoon in there somewhere....
Rep. Gohmert Demands Answers from Attorney General Holder
After signing the petition you will get an automatic way to send an e-mail to your Congressman and Senators. You can use their text or fill in your own.
"..did he just say 15-20....with new info coming forward....and Obama said Holder who?
Maybe he's just a Vin Diesel movie buff.
Holder will never turn on Obama, because to do so, he would have to admit that his whole legal philosophy was a lie. Holder believes in everything that he does.
I imagine that Holder tells Obama what is going on and how he proposes to handle it and then just gets the go ahead from Obama.
"Issa's office said in an early response that Holder's letter "only seems to indicate a willingness to offer a selective telling" of key events and that the chairman is still asking the Justice Department to explain "how it is prepared to alter its opposition to producing subpoenaed documents""
It all depends on how far Issa is willing to take this, I know Holder is a delusional ideologue who believes his own stink but is he willing to die on the sword for Obama?
Could be, in any event, it still puts his goose in the oven.
He is a bigot and an arrogant narcissist who is probably dumber than his boss Obama.
Issa would be making a big mistake to give him the meeting. Besides the fact that he’s had more than enough time and the fact that he has behaved deplorably in his conduct before Congress, this is like the heavyweight boxer who is on the verge of defeating his opponent after fending off dirty tactics for the first 14 rounds, only to help the guy get up off the canvas right before the ref finishes the 10 count. Of course, the dirty fighter is going to take advantage of your magnanimous stupidity and hit you with a sucker punch below the belt.
In negotiating terms, Issa has the upper hand. Giving Holder a meeting creates the appearance that Holder has bargaining strength and credibility. Wrong, Wrong and Wrong.
Issa should politely decline and publish a letter to Holder saying that he looks forward to reviewing the additional emails being promised in the hope that the Attorney General has finally decided to fulfill his oath of office and his ethical duties as an employee of the American people. He should further state that Holder should make no mistake in thinking that anything but full compliance with the Congressional subpoenas will do.
Is that all Issa requested, internal emails, I thought it was much more than that.
What’s the use of heavily redacted internal emails?
Fool me once...shame on you. Fool me twice...
Two things here. Either Holder is confident that he can hide the most damaging emails, or he is convinced that he can dribble them out in tiny lots — least damaging first.
I am totally convinced he has no plans to cooperate with Congress and is simply making a lame attempt to be reasonable so as to derail the contempt proceedings.
But, as you mentioned, the whistle-blowers have come forward, so Holder has no idea what they already have. If he tries to withhold the most damaging documents, Congress can mousetrap him.
Interesting...
Thanks Doogle.
I just called his office.
I would urge other FReepers to do the same.
Keep the pressure on the politicians to do the right thing.
it’s all about the dots
ping
If Issa were sincere he would not show weakness by agreeing to any meeting until he has receive ALL of the requested emails and documents - that's it
anything else just empowers Holder. Holder has been give ample opportunity
