Issa would be making a big mistake to give him the meeting. Besides the fact that he’s had more than enough time and the fact that he has behaved deplorably in his conduct before Congress, this is like the heavyweight boxer who is on the verge of defeating his opponent after fending off dirty tactics for the first 14 rounds, only to help the guy get up off the canvas right before the ref finishes the 10 count. Of course, the dirty fighter is going to take advantage of your magnanimous stupidity and hit you with a sucker punch below the belt.
In negotiating terms, Issa has the upper hand. Giving Holder a meeting creates the appearance that Holder has bargaining strength and credibility. Wrong, Wrong and Wrong.
Issa should politely decline and publish a letter to Holder saying that he looks forward to reviewing the additional emails being promised in the hope that the Attorney General has finally decided to fulfill his oath of office and his ethical duties as an employee of the American people. He should further state that Holder should make no mistake in thinking that anything but full compliance with the Congressional subpoenas will do.
.
How many raw fbi files does holder have on committee members? Or on every member of congress for that matter. SOMETHING held boehner down all this time. Remember whose water boy he was back in the day.
