A report issued by the State Council Information Office of the People's Republic of China has included U.S. gun ownership among a list of human rights violations, Law Enforcement Examiner Jim Kouri reported yesterday. "The Human Rights Record of the United States in 2011" was published last Friday on the PRCs Consulate General in New York website.
The United States prioritizes the right to keep and bear arms over the protection of citizens' lives and personal security and exercises lax firearm possession control, causing rampant gun ownership, the report claims. The U.S. people hold between 35 percent and 50 percent of the world' s civilian-owned guns, with every 100 people having 90 guns [and] 47 percent of American adults reported that they had a gun.
The conclusion that gun bans will result in enhanced protection of lives and personal security flies in the face of both the American and Chinese experience. Predictably, the report presents many of the same cherry-picked arguments used by leading U.S. and international gun control organizations that totally ignore the protective benefits of arms in private hands. And, as typical with advocates of a centralized monopoly of violence, Chinese-style genocide, which resulted in government-caused deaths of unknown tens of millions of defenseless human beings in the 20th Century, and the current brutal occupation and tyrannical suppression of Tibetan sovereignty, is left unacknowledged. Left unsaid is the inconvenient truth that rendering captive populations unable to resist makes such monstrous crimes against humanity not only possible, but inevitable.

Just looking, I got damp and swoony.
90 guns for every 100 people? Come on folks, we can do better than that! Needs to be closer to 100 for every 9 people. Remember GUNS spelled backwards is SNUG.
Yeah. (heh heh heh heh heh heh)
The ChiComs need to look at that quote by Admiral Yamamoto about the prospect of invading America and realize that
“There IS a rifle behind every blade of grass!”
(And with cool focused eyes behind each one.)
They should stop meddling in our internal affairs.
"You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass."
Moreover, most (including many who have served)--and though some of us who did are getting a little long in the tooth--know how to use them and would not hesitate to do so, which is what scares the bejeezus out of any hostile force who would think twice about trying to conquer our Great Republic, which is what drives them "Nuts."
This is huge! China admits that people have rights.
There IS a rifle behind every blade of grass!
Beat me to it. Missed your post.
Great minds and all that rot.....lol
Totalitarian states demand that all power emanate from the state; under such a creed, men have no rights, just enumerated permissions that may be granted or rescinded at the whim of the state.
Firearms are "liberty's teeth."
Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.--Mao Zedong, "Problems of War and Strategy" (November 6, 1938), Selected Works, Vol. II, p. 224.
Dear China,
Remember, there is one behind every bush.
Stay on your side of the Pacific.
It was the reverse for me. Son gave me a Glock 19 decades ago for my birthday. Then I mushroomed with more Glocks, more Berettas, more-more 1911s and variants, AR-15s, AK-47 semis, Garands, Carbines, 03s, even a 1918 Winchester US-Enfield variant. Shotguns and other sundry assortments.
Then about 10 years ago I went old school - revolvers, lever action carbines, etc. Hog wild. To me they are better crafted if you go Ruger, S&W, and even the better Ubertis....its just an elegance that is different from today’s polymer/aluminum composites.
“Firearms are “liberty’s teeth.”
Preventing private ownership of arms is the primary enabler of fascism.
Nazis and communists are experts in using gun control to implement genocidal mass murder.
Projection of flaws upon others is the main game of evil nefarious people.

A number of people on this thread seem to be concerned about the Chinese wanting to strip us of our rights. The Chinese are NOT the main threat.
It's people like 0, Hillary Clinton, upChuck Schumer, Carolyn McCarthy, Jim Moran, Michael Bloomberg, etc. who are the immediate threat. And WHY are they a threat? It's because they actually have the power to impose unconstitutional laws on us. And yet even these wannabe tyrants are not the fundamental problem. They're just the symptom.
The real problem is the people who vote for them. Their supporters are not free. They're dependent on government in one fashion or another. They don't want to be free and they REALLY don't want the rest of us to be free. They are in many cases either direct parasites receiving wealth stolen from the productive citizens by their allies in government as welfare or indirect parasites - government employees, contractors, and specially protected industries like Archer Daniels Midlands and other accomplices in the ethanol fraud. Some statists simply substituted the worship of government for the worship of God in their lives. All of them have a vested interest in reducing freedom because after all they want nothing to interfere with the steady flow of cash from you pocket to theirs via the government and they want nothing to interfere with government's power over everyone's lives.
Heh, heh, I’m getting a little long in the tooth myself (long in the belt loops too, #$&%!!) so I do like older family small arms: wheelguns & bolt action rifles, all made of wood & blue steel of course. But I last qualified with the M-16A2 just before turning age 62 (warrant officers get to hang around forever) and I note with delight that there’s an unbelievable variety of really high-tech rifles & handguns out there with new designs appearing daily it seems. With target acquisition systems to match.
What this means IMO is that America (us bitter clingers anyway) is arming up & ammo-ing up, and there’s not much the Red Chinese or Emperor Obama or even Mayor Bloomberg can do about it except spit & fume. Every issue of the Cheaper Than Dirt catalog just warms my heart!
Arms proliferation? Dig it, celebrate it!
;^)
I have a Charter Arms AR-7 and it jams terribly. Yours have that problem? CCI Stingers seem to be the only thing that works and even then it isn’t 100%.
Clinton may have stopped that particular trade, but we've still got that hardware here. Makes a nice "backup" to the higher-quality stuff.
There is little doubt that China, as with many Progressives, have NO real frakin’ clue what “human rights” are, especially those God and natural law.
