Charles Krauthammer, the conservative columnist spoke about the use of drones for domestic spying last night.
He blasted the idea:
"A drone is a high-tech version of an old army. It ought to be used in Somalia to hunt bad guys but not in America. Yes you can say we have satellites, we have Google Street, we have everything else, but that is no reason to accept a society where you are always watched by the government.
"I would predict the first guy who uses a second amendment weapon to bring a drone down who is hovering over his house will become a folk hero."

Good point. Every military advance prompts a countermeasure!

I’m assuming they have FLIR cameras on them. That means they can probably pick up the heat from inside houses but not actual people.

Guideable solid fuel rocket???
Something as small as a drone, 30,000 feet up, would be terribly hard to see wouldn’t it? As well as not being able to get very good pictures of the ground?
If closer, how about flying a kite into it?

Retired experienced London Blitz RAF Spitfire pilots have new job opportunity. Instead of Nazi Buzz Bombs it will now be Obama/Napaliotano Drones.

First person to shoot down a spy drone from a R/C helicopter will become a folk hero who is not in jail. Or incinerated by a Hellfire missile.

I have images in my mind of some poor SOB in his Cessna 150 practicing “turns around a point” that gets mistaken for a drone........could be like flying over Hanoi in the old days..LOL

Drones are military equipment. Isn't it a violation of Posse Comitatus to use drones over the United States against its citizens?

Seems like all you really need is an R/C airplane with a nose camera to midair the govdrone, no weapons necessary.
Harder to catch the citizen that way, compared to John Doe & his shotgun.
Kamikaze counterdrones. Would it work?

Would it work? Not gonna comment on that. Wouldn't be prudent.
