Just today (12) Comrade Hugo Chavez Frias proclaimed that Jesus has now cured him of pelvic cancer in Cuba, and that he will return to Caracas to the forefront of the fight with Jesus on his side, to construct SOCIALISM in Venezuela.
This to me a) shows he has not repented nor been converted, and b) is mocking God, such as he did when he made the sign of the cross in the UN with 80% of the world delegates laughing, calling President Bush "Satan". I dont wish cancer on anyone, but, as they say, sew the wind, reap the whirlwind.
Nope, only way I will be convinced is he a) accepts a prominent Venezuelan's pastoral letter to him to repent fully and restor social justice and freedom; b) he renounces socialism, communism and Bolivarianism; c) he takes treatment in the USA not Cuba, and d) he kicks out the 29,0000 Cuban doctors and health specialists under the Che model in his land spread around the country, the Iranians via Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps and their missiles, and Hezbollah and their WMD while he's at it, along with. Repentence is actions, not mere words.
Until then, the beckoning sulphur smell will continue to bubble up for El Commandante I feel, and the FR Betting Poll (no money involved, just lightheartedly guessing) shall continue. He still has time. His call.

I don't despise Chavez. I'm not seething with hatred for him, or for any other putrid Communist. I'm simply aware of their degraded state of being, and their many crimes against their fellows.
I feel no more pity for them meeting an untimely end, than I would for a deadly virus that has been successfully eradicated. Their demise is a net positive for the survival of the greater whole.

Getting close now. I would hope he would rescind at least 1/5th of his dictatorial idiocies in reflection in these closing weeks, maybe penitently fly to the USA for a last ditch effort at Sloan-Kettering or elsewhere, and s-can this Cuban medical crap and denounce them. But pride will not allow that. He perhaps believed too much in the medical technologies of Fidel and that horrid island. May God have mercy on his soul. He's probably too late to save now.
