Gay men in Scotland are nearly eight times more likely to have attempted suicide in the past year and four times more likely to have taken drugs than heterosexual men, a survey has suggested.

The relatively high suicide rates among gay Scottish men has nothing to do with the problems associated with coming out of the closet. It’s that they’re forced by tradition to wear those damn kilts. Society does these men no favors by suggesting that their mental disorder is just a different kind of normal. These men need help.

That's well stated. But then you're branded as intolerant and a homophobe by pointing out a real and dangerous illness. It's like noticing someone has been shot, but the tolerant thing to do is let him bleed to death rather than call a hospital. It's not "hate" that makes us say there's something wrong with it. I have a gay uncle who just went through a break-up and they say he's very depressed now. I'm thinking it's not just because of the break-up.

Ever since the beginning of psychotherapy, homosexuality had been correctly diagnosed as a mental illness.
With the advent of the relative (anything goes) and anti-Christian (their agenda) “morality” of the Left during the sixties the sickness of sodomy was, presto chango, deemed not to be a sickness but a legitimate lifestyle likely the result of genetic determination.
Since then not only has there been no discovery of a so-called “homosexual gene” (if one existed it would have been found by now) but promising therapies that could cure this emotionally debilitating mental disease have been severely hamstrung by political correctness.
Just as PC has caused untold deaths by forcing women to be accepted into life or death jobs best performed by those with upper body strength aka men, homosexuals are forced to suffer from their otherwise treatable condition and thus perish as well on the alter of the Evil Left.

Very good post. As I head to 50, my gay friends — who have so many great qualities and have been good friends —are sort of falling apart. It is hard to describe-—but after a steady diet of good times and a few decades of “me me me” - it just seems that they are wearing out from the inside and you can see it their faces now. I am generalizing, of course. But it is a pattern and I am seeing it first hand.

By looking at gay men as a group you are starting with a group that has serious mental health issues by definition.

I think this is the basis of all their discontent. They know they are not normal, that their lifestyle is destructive and they deny it. No matter how loudly they protest, they know they are lying to themselves.

The medical profession is a magnet for homosexuals. In my 30 some years, I have known many homosexuals. Perhaps one or two were truly at peace with who and what they were. All the others were bitter, nasty folks.
