To hell with the GOP-e. Barring a miracle, they got their big government, unconstitutional mandate loving, socialist abortionist Obama-lite RINO on the ballot, they can now get him elected.
We are the resistance!!
Shove him down our throats today, we shove him up your donkeys in November!!
I can see November from my house!!
Yep, Gingrich single-handedly gave the nomination to Romney. You could see it coming. Personally, I never thought Santorum could beat Romney. Santorum could beat the MSM or the GOP Establishment, but not both. Both of them wanted Romney as both of them wanted McCain.
Otherwise I agree, Gingrich was a large nail in Santorum’s coffin, but I’m not going to sweat it because I really don’t believe Santorum had a chance anyway. Romney would kill him in California. That is a lot of electoral votes.
I’m looking for this ‘other restaurant’. Is there a Free Republic Party candidate? Is there a Tea Party Party candidate?
The Supreme Court is the #1 reason why we must prevail in November.
We must control the Senate as well as win the White House.
Anyone can look at those old justices and know that a turnover is coming, and it will impact us for decades.
I passionately want Barack Obama voted out of office. I know of no way to boot him other than to vote for the Republican nominee, because the Republican Party is the only viable existing vehicle.
Don’t argue that a third party can organize in time to beat the Obama machine seven months from now. Can’t be done.
But it could be done in four years, if forward-thinking conservatives are serious about their cause.
Anybody but Obama in November to slow the decline, but get started NOW on a new party for 2016 to stop it.
It’s cathartic to yell and scream and let off steam today, but we’re pragmatists. Unload now, then come down to earth and get to work.
Best post on this thread so far. Onward...
But, don't you know? Unless you vote for Romney, we'll rain damnation on ourselves! Why, unless Romney wins, we're headed for a disaster of Biblical proportions! Old Testament - real wrath of God type stuff! Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling! Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes...The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!
I’ll type slowly so even you can follow - there is but a microscopic minority here who will vote for that ass-wipe Romney who actually wants to vote for that ass-wipe Romney.
Just getting to this thread - interesting to see the names of the Romney supporters/FR wants to destroy the country by not supporting 0bomba-lite etc. Some are just the ones I would expect.
Resorting to personal insults I see. How...liberal of you.
I understand your argument, particularly since you spelled it out for me with the “hard to understand” cliche. It’s not lack of understanding though; it’s that I’ve built up a tolerance to it, you see. I’ve had it used on me my entire adult life.
Dole.
Bush.
McCain.
Now Romney.
Is there no limit to this argument? If Republicans ran Hillary, one could use the same tired point, because she is slightly to the right of Obama.
You can paint me as a foolish idealist, as you have painted me a troll. I’ll even add it to the list on my first post to you! The fact, though, is that I am not. I have cast plenty of pragmatic, hold-my-nose votes, and I’ve volunteered for and donated to folks I had reservations about. This one is just simply a bridge too far.
You need to ask yourself at what point you’d draw the line to the better of two evils defense. Start at a liberal who is just barely to the right of Obama (like Bill Clinton) who you wouldn’t vote for even if the Republicans ran him, and keep going slightly right until you could actually vote for them. For me, Romney is on the wrong side of where I draw the line. It’s that simple.
That’s why Romney won’t call Obama a socialist (”he’s just in over his head”). If he did, then he’d be admitting that he’s a socialist too.
“Until then, the elites won and they have us in a corner. Its Romney or Obama.”
Nope.
I’m a free dude. I can write in anyone I wish. I may vote for me. If the GOPE wants to commit suicide, I am under no moral/legal obligation to hand them the gun to shoot themselves with.
And if Utopia burns as a result, so be it. The America I loved is dead already.
Then those of us left can start over.
A distinction lost on many folks, unfortunately.
I, too, will be voting in November. Not for Mr. RomneyCare, but for local and state elections/issues.
I will write in Paul Ryan.
The national GOP establishment, and inside the beltway talking heads are to blame for the Republican presidential loss in 2012.
They can take their fundraising efforts and shove it.
I doubt he will bow to a muzzies of another country. That’s a good start!! No charge!
And if Utopia burns as a result, so be it. The America I loved is dead already.

Exactly.
Why is it more conservative to say that you can only vote for somebody you agree with 100% of the time and not that you vote to ensure the more conservative candidate wins? Why can you live with yourself if you vote for somebody who has no chance of winning? Does it not bother you that you didn’t do everything in your power to prevent a Communist from getting a second term?
This is one depressing thread. I thought most Freepers were Christians. We seem to have it backward, putting country before God. I don’t have to pray about whether to vote for Romney. I have to stand before God, my father. My father! I know how He feels about abortion. I cannot stand before God having voted for someone with the blood of abortion on his hands without thus having partaken with him. I fear God too much to do that. The thought of doing that makes me literally tremble. Then there is the sin of homosexual sex and Romney’s tacit approval of it by supporting gay marriage. If others don’t fear God enough and vote for a Romney, and there seems to be enough in this country, then we deserve the judgement handed to us via our government. We’ve become a post-Christian nation. Whatever befalls our nation, I know wherein lies my trust and who it is that takes care of me. I’ll stay under the shadow of God’s wings. For me, voting for Romney is akin to walking away from God. Newt may have some baggage, but so did King David. Newt has publicly expressed repentance. I believe if he is sincere, as he seems to be by his contriteness and testimony, that God has forgiven him just as He did King David.
Straw man. I never said Romney is conservative.
Romney nominated 9 Republicans, 14 Democrats and 13 with no known political affiliation.
From them, 2 of the 36 were as you said. Two.
Well 100% of Obama’s Scotus appointments are homosexual activists, so you do the math on that one.
The election is liberal Republican vs radical communist Muslim.
Why is that so hard for you to understand?
RADICAL COMMUNIST MUSLIM.
There seems to be no talking to people when I say I would rather have a liberal president than a Radical Communist Muslim, and all they can come back with is “well is he going to appoint conservatives, huh, is he, is he, huh, huh?????”
NO he is not going to appoint conservatives. That ship sailed.
So now the choice is, do you want liberals on SCOTUS or do you want RADICAL COMMUNISTS like Kagan and Sortamywhore. That is the choice.
