PORTLAND, Ore. -- Police are hoping the public can help identify several kids who stormed a local gas station this past Saturday night and stole everything they could grab.
On the surveillance video, one person came into the Chevron convenience store on SE 92nd and Foster. Then a second person came in and pretty soon, a large group of kids was packed into the shop. Soon, they were stealing anything they could, from drinks to gum to candy.
Carlos Garcia was working Saturday night at around 11:30 p.m. when the incident happened. He said there were 16 kids in the store. Garcia said the kids grabbed anything they could and shoved items into their pockets or simply carrying them in their hands and out the door.
"My first reaction was call police because I can't do more," he said. "I don't want to hurt them -- they're kids. I called the police. They don't stop they're just picking picking as much as they can."
As the kids were leaving the store, there was some sort of confrontation. It didn't end there, though. The thieves came back to the parking lot, which is when Garcia said they started throwing things at him. Garcia promptly grabbed a baseball bat and scared the kids off.
Portland Police are investigating. Employees at the store are hoping someone can recognize the kids and call police.
It’s just their version of “restitution”, so just let it go....
jmho....
Ageists!
“Daring”??
Doin it alone might be darin, not when it happens like this..
I shouldn’t say “happen” either, it didn’t just happen out of the blue .. like a pregnancy (lol)
No no no. You're doing it all wrong.
Allow me.

“daring” = Not a criminal act but a type of protest. Let’s move on. You can’t throw kids in jail for exercising their right to free speech and association.
And is Mr Garcia really Hispanic enough to use that name?
How many times is this kind of thing done by white, Chinese, Japanese, or Hispanic gangs?? I don’t seem to have seen any reports of it.
Another good reason for a 12 gauge shotgun behind the counter!
Yer going to PC Hell for sure for posting that picture. How dare you point out reality.
Of course, as they always say about Hell in general, if you end up in PC Hell, it won’t be that bad because all your real friends will be there with you...:)
I guess it's a good thing I was not the clerk....
They would learn the meaning of "not politicaly correct"...
firsthand and in a hurry...
You would haveta bail me out... ROFL
lol
It’s not blacks that is the problem. It is the black culture. And they are a product of Johnson’s Great Society as well as the Jesse’s and Al’s of the world.
There is little doubt in my mind now that we are headed for a race war in this country. And the wrong side seems to be pushing for it because they will lose handily (the black side).
Actually, we will all lose.
Eric Holder's people would clear out in three seconds.
In some places, businesses use a laminated double door system, so only one person can enter or leave at once, “buzzed in” by the clerk. If the clerk feels uncomfortable with individuals entering or leaving, he just locks his register and automatically, the door, then retreats to a “safe room” office behind it, and hits a panic button. Guns are still available, but the effort is for them to matter less.
Typically the robbers then in no particular order try to break out through the laminate, trash the store, and steal from the locked register, try to smash through the safe room door, and try to buzz the door open, all while in an increasing state of panic. All the while the police are en route, the video cameras are rolling, the clerk is talking to the police and his boss.
The end result is that some bad guys are trapped within and get arrested, some without who may or may not be smart enough to run away, the clerk doesn’t get hurt, and the bad guys who are arrested get years in prison.
In the immortal words of Maxine Waters after the LA riots: “It wasn’t a riot. It was a revolution.”
Hard to revolt when you’re carrying a stolen flat screen out of a discount store.
Nah, they are practicing to get “trayvoned”.
