CBS News) Police surveillance video that appears to conflict with a Florida neighborhood watch volunteer's account of a confrontation with the teenager he eventually gunned down, Trayvon Martin, was called "the icing on the cake" by the Martin family's attorney on "CBS This Morning" Thursday.
Attorney Ben Crump told Erica Hill and Charlie Rose that the video refutes George Zimmerman's claims of shooting Martin in self-defense. The video, obtained by ABC News, shows Zimmerman, without any obvious injuries, being led into police headquarters in Sanford, Fla., after the shooting. Zimmerman's father and lawyer have said Martin attacked Zimmerman in his gated community, breaking his nose with a punch to the face and slamming the back of his head against the sidewalk.
"Thank God for surveillance video," said Crump, "because obviously there was a conspiracy to cover up the truth and sweep Trayvon Martin's death under the rug, and as (Martin's mother) Sybrina Fulton said yesterday upon seeing this video, 'This is the icing on the cake.'"

A lot of misinformation out there, apparently.
One example. There was a witness who went on TV and radio claiming that there was no fight and that the police refused to take her testimony. The police told that TV station that they had taken a sworn statement from her and that her statement was consistent with Zimmerman’s claims.
The TV station responded by saying that the police have their job, and the media has its job.
I’d love to find out what the TV station believes is its JOB.
It would be easy enough to find out who was telling the truth, simply by looking at her sworn statement.
At this point, though, it sounds like the Martin family would say that the signature on the statement was forged, etc. They are claiming a full-blown conspiracy now.
I do not wish harm, but they wind up destroying their urban own, and preperty.
That's true in any case. You can bet, because it is almost 100% certain, that when the story is "big news," the media is wrong, misleading, incomplete, and otherwise creating a false impression of reality. While the facts they publish have to be, for the most part, true, the presentation is never accurate, and never complete. Plus, most of what is presented as "news" is noting more than opinion - and the opinions are almost always based on misunderstanding or misapplication of law; fantasy facts; or a combination of both.
The media is worse than useless, it is a source of problems.
...and her thighness waddles over to the big chair? Mitty would lose in landslide.
That's because, long ago, they figured out the only way to sell you more detergent was to give you plenty of dirty laundry.
“The media is worse than useless, it is a source of problems.”
What you said. Your comments revived an old memory I had nearly forgotten. During the 2000 FL recall, my ex was in Denmark. All he had was CNN Europe. He would listen to the reports and get an idea of what was going on. Then I would write him a once-a-day digest gleaned mostly from what was posted on FR. My ex told me my summary was mirror opposite to what CNN was reporting—but my summaries turned out to be 99.9 percent accurate.
Now the time it took to sift through all the info to get to the facts is another story. When the MSM is spinning everything to advance their narrative, the truth is a tough commodity to distill. It looks like the Trayvon case is very similar. So much of what’s been reported is categorically untrue. I wish there was a site that kept up w what’s known to be true vs the spin. I just don’t have the time these days that I used to have, and I cannot effectively identify all the misinformation.
Thanks again for your help!
BS. It's been well reported that his father is a RETIRED judge.
About hours after the confrontaton, accordig to an article posted by msnbc, more than enough time for the EMTs toclean him up.
Very good. Assuming you did the screen grab and highlighting yourself, mind if I pass it along?
You’re point is good about the sworn affidavit. I wonder why more is not being done by the police side to correct some of the misinformation. It’s in nobody’s best interest to incite a race war. [Well, nobody except Sharpton, J. Jackson, Obama and the Dems.]
“This video plus the chance that he may know some of these cops from all the 911 calls he has made is not good for his already bogus defense.”
Yes, always remember that Big Media cares about YOU and would NEVER mislead you.
Big Media GOOD, facts and logic need not apply.
GEESH, do I need the /s?
Probably so.
I did, and feel free.
That's what the revolutionary communist "Black Liberation" movement is all about. Obama studied BLT in Wright's phony "church" for 20+ years.
"Their founding document [the Weather Underground's] called for the establishment of a "white fighting force" to be allied with the Black Liberation Movement" and other "anti-colonial" movements[1] to achieve "the destruction of US imperialism and the achievement of a classless world: world communism."..."-Berger, Dan (2006). I was a cop for a very short time in the 70s. Two brothers-in-law got into a fight and one shot the other. We had the shooter in the back of the car transporting him to the station when he started saying “I shot the son of bitch. I hope he dies.”
The veteran cop pulled over, gave the guy his rights then told him to shut up and not say another word.” After he was turned over to a detective for questioning the cop told me “There were ten witnesses who saw this so he will be convicted. But I don’t wanta’ be tied up in court for months.
Everything in the news right now is an exact repeat of Hillary's 2007 dirty tricks campaign.
In 2007 they went after Imas for “hate speech” against women, and “war on women” now it's Rush.
In 2007 it was the “Jenna 6” and “nooses hanging everywhere” BS they tried using to stir up civil unrest, now it's Trayvon Martin.
I don't have a doubt in my mind, everything we are seeing right now is intended to get Hillary's fat ass into the WH.
Isn't she the one that switched her story? She sounds like an attention whore that will say what ever gives her, her 15 minutes.
I bet it’s even better from your mother’s basement.
Seems like a lot of cops try to avoid “inconvenient” situations like that. I can’t tell you how many times I notified a cop of something going on only to have them either brush me off or go in the other direction. And even when they do respond they often take forever to get there.
