-- Seems like it takes a lot of time to keep up w what is true and not true in this case. --

That's true in any case. You can bet, because it is almost 100% certain, that when the story is "big news," the media is wrong, misleading, incomplete, and otherwise creating a false impression of reality. While the facts they publish have to be, for the most part, true, the presentation is never accurate, and never complete. Plus, most of what is presented as "news" is noting more than opinion - and the opinions are almost always based on misunderstanding or misapplication of law; fantasy facts; or a combination of both.

The media is worse than useless, it is a source of problems.

That's because, long ago, they figured out the only way to sell you more detergent was to give you plenty of dirty laundry.

“The media is worse than useless, it is a source of problems.”

What you said. Your comments revived an old memory I had nearly forgotten. During the 2000 FL recall, my ex was in Denmark. All he had was CNN Europe. He would listen to the reports and get an idea of what was going on. Then I would write him a once-a-day digest gleaned mostly from what was posted on FR. My ex told me my summary was mirror opposite to what CNN was reporting—but my summaries turned out to be 99.9 percent accurate.

Now the time it took to sift through all the info to get to the facts is another story. When the MSM is spinning everything to advance their narrative, the truth is a tough commodity to distill. It looks like the Trayvon case is very similar. So much of what’s been reported is categorically untrue. I wish there was a site that kept up w what’s known to be true vs the spin. I just don’t have the time these days that I used to have, and I cannot effectively identify all the misinformation.

Thanks again for your help!
