On Face the Nation Sunday on CBS, Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum explained that his view of the Trayvon Martin shooting differed significantly from the one held by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
So the 'racist' tape Yaelle said he heard at CNN was doctored? Is that what you mean?
At 2:18 the word is punks; with headphones and a dozen repetitions, it is punks. Note that this link is the official site.
"Punk" is not a racist word.
Romney is the nominee.Mitt thank Rick.
He couldn’t wait to pander to the MSM and be liked.
“But people arent listening to what he or any of the candidates are really saying. Theyre voting for an image.”
I’m not, but I’ve pretty much lost all hope for our country because this statement seems to be too true. They’ll get what they deserve.
Neighborhood watch people are not LEO’s. They are volunteers providing a service to their community. An extra set of eyes for true LEO’s and their neighbors.
I have been a neighborhood watch volunteer for a few years and have had briefings from our local PD. It was stressed we were not LEO’s. Our job was to observe and report.
Which it appears Mr Z was doing because he was talking with the local PD on his cell phone.
The search for previous The Daily Caller posts inserts a hidden date in front of the headline. I just noticed that. Therefore a search did not indicate it was previously posted because the search string would not have been the same.
However, I am unapologetic. I’m not a Rick basher as such. Every candidate has his problems, but this was a disaster, IMO, and deserves at least a second look. As stated, in my opinion - which I have a right to, as you say - the worst part of it wasn’t the content, which was bad enough, but the presentation, which was pathetic.
Plus, the volume of responses indicates that a lot of FReepers missed it first time around.
Santorum just jumped the shark and has proven how uninformed he is about this case. Which is why it is a revealing moment of stupidity for him to comment on it at all. Either that, or this is pandering of the lowest scumbag sort. He should fall like a rock now among intelligent conservatives. Up until this moment, I was willing to support him wholeheartedly, should he be our nominee. Now I will only support Gingrich, and not vote otherwise. I really do hate to say that, but if this is the sorry pack of scumbags we’re offering up, we deserve to lose and to have Obama destroy the country further. Everyone better get on board for Gingrich to save our nation. He’s our only hope at this point. How pathetic the republican party has become, and I am truly heartbroken over it.
Any of you NW people carry gun with you?
Yes it has, at least so-called “conservative” candidates for the GOP nomination.
It’s worth saying twice, “That was embarrasing!” Now that makes it at least three times.
In NC a person with a CCW permit is allowed to carry a weapon except in the places where it is not allowed.
So, here, a person allowed to carry - is allowed to carry.
The typical MO in my neighborhood is for the perp to walk through the neighborhood during daylight working hours. Ring a doorbell, if nobody answers kick in the front door and take what you can walk away with.
So people walking who look like they don’t “belong” get second and third looks.
And before you get huffy about “belong” I live in a professional neighborhood that is majority black so there’s plenty of black youths walking around - just not during school hours. And due to the health kick these days the majority of folks walking around early morning and evenings are black also.
BTW - the leadership of our NW is black as well as the Garden Club.
You have a presumed innocent man that has had national broadcasting of fliers and e-communications that offer $10K DEAD OR ALIVE...and Rick KNOWS this...
and you think there’s wiggle-room for a right and a wrong on Rick’s behavior based on what we don’t yet know about the incident?
No, I don’t know where you got that. I can’t support what Rick said.
CNN went over how great the audio expert is, it was in his office with his equipment. Sure, if CNN and this guy have a doctored tape... How stupid would they look if the tape played in court is totally different.
Zimmerman definitely said those evil words at little provocation. No wonder tet are having hoodie walks. My son also wears hoodies. Now as it turns out, the son is no choir boy, but it may not matter.
Ricky just lost my vote. Ron Paul in the Primary, whomever gets the nomination in the General. Even Romney.
Looking for the link. Sorry. Don’t know what thread it was.
Some of these a$$——s like Santorum, thinks they should be POTUS. What a sad state of affairs. This case could prove to be another Tawanah Brawley or reminiscent of the “Duke LAX” case where so many accusers had egg on their face. Santorum is a phony pure and simple.
Finally. Found the audio enhanced by CNN where you can hear Zimmerman say those nasty words.

You’re hearing what you want to hear, and believing what you want to believe. This is the Florida Ballot Fiasco all over again. Trying to divine the intent of the person. Those sounds could just as easily be guttural groans from the stress of running, as they could be words, and to put a man’s life on the line because of it, is shameful, and it’s a national disgrace to see this going on.
The alleged action of a self-appointed neighborhood watchman last month in Sanford, FL significantly contradicts the principles of the Neighborhood Watch Program."

Carmen Caldwell, the Executive Director of Citizens Crime Watch of Miami-Dade: In no program that I have ever heard of does someone patrol with a gun in their pocket. Every city and municipality has their own policies. Here in Miami-Dade we train people only to be the eyes and ears of their communities. Not to follow and most definitely not to carry a weapon.
I was wondering about that.
It sounded like a strange neighborhood watch program I had never heard of, that’s for sure.
