Barack Obama turned up the intensity of his reelection bid, debuting a movie glorifying himself as a president who made "tough" decisions that dragged a traumatized nation out of crisis.
The 17-minute film, soberly narrated by Tom Hanks, is packed with pensive still photos of Obama, and testimony to his toughness from backers like former president Bill Clinton, Vice President Joe Biden and top political aides.
It opens with footage of Obama's euphoric victory rally in Chicago in 2008, recreating the hope and expectation of that campaign, but perhaps inadvertently pointing to the difficultly of recreating that heady moment in time.
"Time and again, we would see rewards from tough decisions he had made, not for quick political gain, but for long-term and enduring change," Hanks said.
"So when we remember this moment and consider this president, then and now, let's remember how far we have come and look forward to the work still to be done."
The film, called "The Road We've Traveled" and directed by Oscar winning director Davis Guggenheim, comes across as an effort to convince Obama supporters, perhaps disappointed by his presidency so far, that they should sign up to fight for him again in November's election.
The film is essentially a greatest hits of the Obama presidency, putting the most positive spin possible on his domestic, economic and national security policy, and skipping over bitter feuds that have raged since he was elected.
Republicans are sure to mock the movie as a grandiose attempt to disguise an administration they consider a miserable failure, with unemployment still above 8.3 percent and many Americans yet to feel the benefits of a recovery.

We already seen the 3 year preview .. why bother with 17 minutes more of rehashed hash?

Is there a part where the naked Obama walks down the street thinking he has clothes on?
Isn't that funny. He's also the PRODUCER for that film about about Palin.
I figured it would be Obama walking in front of
vacant strip malls and high priced Gas stations.
Check the comments at Yahoo. They are almost all bashing Obama. This is Yahoo! People are waking up. Thank God.
Producer David Guggenheim, narrator Tom Hanks, and their ‘Bummer suck-up film “The Road We’ve Travelled” are now the odds-on favorites to sweep this year’s Leni Reifenstahl Awards.
You cannot get much farther to the left than Tom Hanks.
He is on my “Don not watch list” along with Jane Fonda and George Clooney.
Making a “tough” or not “tough” decision would normally be judged by the informed interpretation of a free Press.
Our Press is neither informed, nor free.
Hence, we have no idea whether Obama has made any tough decisions at all. All that we know is that the Admensturation and the Press wants us to believe that the decisions were tough.
That they created propaganda to push the “tough decisions” meme leads me to further believe that this President is a joke.
Nothing new here — Our self-absorbed infirmative-action president has already written two autobiographies of his make-believe life. Guess he doesn’t trust anyone else to get his “facts” right.
OK, now I have to vent. I work with a mid-aged lady from Irleand who has been here in the US for quite a while. She's a stinking liberal and sucks up any BS her liberal friends, radio station or whatever throw at her. Typical liberal, dabbled in hinduism, buddism, new age crap, etc. and her beliefs are a compilation tossed around with a little Catholic upbringing. OK so much for background. A few minutes ago she came into my office and said - I just spoke with a friend of mine in the UK and she filled up her car and it cost her $240. I said what are people going to do when gas gets that high here. She said with a smile, well, I guess people will all have to go electric cars. I said, The volt is $30,000 who can afford that. She said, well I guess people will have to bike or walk like they did years ago. I just wanted to slap her even though I otherwise like her. Stupid!!!! What about the transport business? Electric trucks? What imbeciles liberals are. They seen to not go very deep - even if well educated. I am still fuming from the conversation because another smug, know it all liberal has all the answers that are causing us to become a 2nd rate country. Grrrrrrrrr. Liberals are idiots.
Barack is simply amazing. There’s nothing he can do!
But, but - work is hard!
I believe the title should be... “The ROAD THAT WAS NEVER TRAVELED”.
I try to take as little life advice as possible from those who pretend to be other people for a living.
"The Road We Plowed"
