NYS has been reading too many UK papers to come up with a stupid law like that.

OK. Sell a coffee and a shot of Irish whiskey separately, and let the customer pour the shot into the coffee himself.

Jackasses passing law to address the already illegal sale of caffeinated cocktails to minors.

Glad I left that NYC hell-hole 21yrs ago. Dinkins and Koch had turned it into a sewer; Rudy fixed it, but I was long-gone by then.

I just had to check on it. It looks like this incident is what prompted it.

More contraband for people to smuggle in and sell at a profit. Lovely.

One instance and they have a law? What are they going to do on St. Paddy’s Day? They should have clarified it by specifying coffee was excluded. Besides, how can underage kids buy alcohol drinks?

May God have mercy on their pathetic souls.

FALSE

The NYC Senate passed the bill. It still has to go to the assembly.

Not a law.

"Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it... There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with."

You’re technically correct. The State Senate passed a bill. It has to go to the (liberal) state assembly and the (liberal) NYS governor before it becomes a law.

I’m sure the (liberal) assembly and (liberal) governor will stop it dead in its tracks.

No way. That’s a crime against a true Irish coffee.

With New York’s Irish heritage, I hope there is a backlash against Nanny Bloomberg before March 17th.
