MARK DUELL 2nd March 2012
Rush Limbaugh advertiser today revealed it will pull all adverts from his radio show after the host caused widespread outrage by branding a student a slut for her views on contraception.
The 61-year-old made fun of her for saying religious institutions should cover birth control in health insurance - and said in a further show that she should have to make sex tapes if this ever happens.
Now mattress retailer Sleep Train, based in Rocklin, California, has bowed to pressure on Twitter and said it will no longer advertise on the show. Other advertisers are being called to do the same.
Rush Limbaugh, 61, left called Sandra Fluke, right, a student at Catholic college Georgetown University, a 'slut' for saying religious institutions should cover birth control under health insurance We don't condone negative comments directed toward any group, a Sleep Train spokesman tweeted. Thanks to all of you for your concern and input.
Meanwhile advertiser ProFlowers said it will 're-evaluate its marketing plan and dating site eHarmony insisted it will look into the matter of "network buys".
The host said Sandra Fluke, of Catholic college Georgetown University in Washington D.C., was promiscuous for saying woman should get the pill for medical reasons.
And he went even further on his next show, saying: 'If we are going to pay for your contraceptives and.....

“I fall on my back for a Sleep Train Mattress!”
(Voice-over) Take it from Sandra Fluke: For the best `bouncy bouncy’ in the business—Sleep Train!
I am willing to bet that Rush has a backlog lineup of prospective advertisers waiting for an opening.
He, maybe they can advertise at Georgetown. SOunds like there’s plenty of “Risky Business” going on there to make a market.
Agreed, plus Rush has many potential new advertisers just waiting for a spot to open up.
Having 20-25 million listeners is a pretty powerful position to be in.
Rush wont even notice. Another advertiser will fill the gap.
**************************************************
Local advertiser in Cali ... Rush gets nothing from them ,, just the national adverts anyway ... the local radio station will replace them in about 30 minutes..
Since when did eHarmony advertise with Rush?
Screw these people. Hey Sleep Train: shove it up your bum.
And Pro Flowers, I have personally used your services for stuff. You dump Rush, I’ll never buy from you again.
People like me, and there are millions more, are sick of the leftwing crybabies not being able to take a dose of their own medicine.
Did anyone dump Anderson Cooper’s exceedingly low rated show when he laughed about “teabaggers”? Or when that miserable comedienne Kathy whats-her-hag took off her clothes? Or how about when Barack Hussein Obama “mmm mmm mmm” flipped off his enemies during speeches? Or when that unfunny black jerk Tracy Morgan said he liked to masturbate while looking at Sarah Palin? Did any of the media and the advertising people refuse to do business with the production companies and networks and businesses associated with such hateful behavior?
Rush says he doesn’t want to pay for some whiner’s birth control pills, and he is suddenly persona non-grata??? Give me a break.
Shove it media.

Here is the contact info for the clowns at sleep train, in case anyone is interested.
This has to be the weirdest start to March I have seen in my life. If we survive the ides, we might be okay.
To be known hereafter as “Slut Train.”
Matress Train, the official matrass of college sluts.
soon to have out of business sale.
those idiots just committee financial suicide.
The Kay's Jewelers of the Bedroom. They overprice their products by about 300%, then have a weekly "50 PERCENT OFF SALE". I think Alan Colmes listeners would be more their audience. Or maybe How-weird Stern...
given how sleazy matress sales are as a whole, this is all one PR stunt.
I hope it kills their business.
Perhaps they can hire Sandra Fluke to show off their products................
Message to all you ‘furious retailers’ and those who ‘re-evaluate’:
There’s plenty of other establishments we can get the same products you sell - of equal or greater quality.
Reject the conservative dollar at your own peril.
SleepTrain is a mattress/waterbed reseller and decades ago used to sponsor the late Saturday nite movie on the local channel. The movies were usually corny ones and dated, but the alternative was info-mercials so there was a substantial local audience. IIRC he sold matresses by putting a strong emphasis on ‘family values’ and used a sillouette of himself and his daughter as the ‘loving couple’ logo of his show. Some years ago it looked like they were toast and Sleeptrain had closed local stores and stopped sponsoring the movies, but I guess advertising with Rush saved the company. I’d say if the left wants to play twitter wars, the right should respond in kind and remind Sleeptrain who buttered their bread.
Why cant Planned Parenthood provide contraceptives to this woman?
Isnt that what they do and they are already funded?
This is most distressing news. I had my heart set on furnishing my motel chain with Sleep Train mattresses. Now I sense the Feng Shui would be disturbed.
Hey Monk update on UK Daily mail two more advertiser has pull out of Rush show
