This morning Glen Beck was discussing "what is a Christian" and used the full title of the LDS Church as proof they are Christians, not some whacked out cult based on a modern day "prophet".
He also spoke of how Soros thinks of himself as a god.
As a disclaimer, every member of that church that I've ever met was a clean living, humble and generous person...but that doesn't make them Christians.
I asked if belief in the ressurection made one a Christian.
- - —
No. Demons know Jesus was resurrected and the Son of God. Doesn’t make them Christians.
Actually he is a baptized Catholic, but chose to join the Mormon Church to please his wife.
Poooooorrrrrr Glenn.
That whole thing always bugged me. By all accounts, his in laws are Italian to the core i.e.; Catholics. What goes unnoticed is the fact that Pat Grey is a funny underwear wearer from way back and Glens best friend. I think that when Glenn was drying out, this dude told him that Mormonism was where it was at and he bought into it. Glen is pretty slow when it comes to push and shove.
<<<< snort!!! >>>>
IT says something about a person who would try to use a simple typo to AVOID commenting on the CONTENT of the rest of a post.
Anyone so TIRED of these threads COULD, quite possibly, be suffering from severe exclamatory depletion!
CAPSLOCK key sticking has also been noted in 48 perCENT OF THE CASES TREATED; TOO!!!!!!!!!
lol I checked out those cases as well.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Since you've clarified your statement, let me try to answer it.
No.
Lots of folks witnessed the results of the 'resurrection' and they 'believed' that it had occured; but that did NOT make them a 'believer' in Jesus and what HE was offering to them.
Two fellows actually MET Jesus as they walked along the road to Manaus (sp?) and failed to realize it at the time. They told others, some who 'believed' and some who didn't. One fellow (you might have heard of him: Tom, one of the disicples) went so far to exclaim that unless HE, personally, encountered this Jesus the others spoke about, he was NOT going to believe.
When Jesus appeared to them all, Tom was encouraged to touch HIM.
Ah; you believe at last! You believe because you have seen; blessed are those who will believe that have NOT seen. (or something like this - look it up around John 20:29)
The question of the resurrection was put to the apostle Paul, and he wrote the following:
1 Corinthians 151 Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8 and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.
9 For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of themyet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11 Whether, then, it is I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed.
(Get out your bible and read the REST of the story, found in First Corinthians, chapter 15. You'll find the verse that MORMONism uses to 'justify' it's "baptism for the dead" ritual that pops up in these threads all of the time.)
"I won't marry you unless we have a religion we share." (timeline 0:58)

(Evidently SOMETHING about Catholicism didn't appeal to her.)
I am perfectly able to see that Romney is a lying manipulative person without resort to his religious beliefs, no matter how screwy they are. Just like I see a lack of character and of fundamental honesty in Obama, McCain and Gingrich. One does not have to be a devout Christian to tell the truth, and having enduring principles, but it sure seems to help.
Oh oh!
CAn of worms time!

1 Corinthians 14:5
Now I wish that you all spoke in tongues, but even more that you would prophesy; and greater is one who prophesies than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may receive edifying.
As far as “who we are” we are Christians like you, who are charged with defending the faith and saving souls. You are Catholic you know what the Bible says, what you have been taught.
Are your Mormon friends not important enough to you to at least try and and sway them from the path to perdition?
Seems that if you are unwilling to even try that then to call us bashers and haters and such falls a little flat. If I hated some one I would take no interest in their eternal soul...
Petty does too...
Or, as Reaganaut inferred, when one comes to belief in the ressurection through the Mormon religion its the equivilant of a demon believing?
read the REST of the story, found in First Corinthians, chapter 15.
When that’s all you got.......
So its necessary for one to become aware of some "rest of the story" either before or after coming to believe in the ressurection for it to work?

What many people don’t seem to understand is that Romney is a lying manipulative person BECAUSE of his Mormon beliefs, not in spite of them.
They may appear honest, trustworthy and ‘good’ people to outsiders, but far more often than not they are just acting or in denial in order to appear ‘perfect’ because there is a lot of pressure in Mormonism to be perfect, and it makes non Mormons more interested in the Mormon church and makes them let their guard down about Mormonism.
