A team of salvage divers has discovered an unexplained object resting at the bottom of the Baltic Sea near Sweden.
"This thing turned up. My first reaction was to tell the guys that we have a UFO here on the bottom," said Peter Lindberg, the leader of the amateur treasure hunters.
Sonar readings show that the mysterious object is about 60 meters across, or, about the size of a jumbo jet. And it's not alone. Nearby on the sea floor is another, smaller object with a similar shape. Even more fascinating, both objects have "drag marks" behind them on the sea floor, stretching back more than 400 feet.
"Could this be the Star Wars Millenium Falcon, a plug to an inner world or a marine version of Stonehenge?" asks CNN's Brooke Bowman:

Cool!
It would make my year if it’s an ancient UFO, and the discovery activates a beacon that leads to a world-ending alien invasion, or unleashes a deadly alien virus that devestates the planet. That would ROCK!
Some commenters at the link are suggesting it could be a weather balloon. Does that seem like a likely possibility?
I was wondering where I left that...
If it’s metallic and clangs when you hit it, I’m going to assume it’s Eleanor Roosevelt’s virginity until proven otherwise.
Pac-Man or a Death Star?
Aliens vs Predators just became a documentary.
That’s the it - the original lead baloon and it’s proto type.
Russian ceramic nuclear waste storage tank.
“If there is any suspiscion that it is an alien craft, the History Channel will do a special on it. They are convinced that Aliens have visited us and are responsible for everything they cannot otherwise explain.”
Remember when the History Channel used to be about history?
“Comrade, we have launched a new submarine design. This will change undersea exploration....if we can find it.
Disregard the extra ‘the’.
It's the gravestone on proper journalism, maybe.
Is anyone else offended that an alleged journalist would ask such a leading, stupid, sensationalist question?
“It would make my year if its an ancient UFO, and the discovery activates a beacon that leads to a world-ending alien invasion, or unleashes a deadly alien virus that devestates the planet. That would ROCK!”
I watched a show by Michio Kaku on how we could defend against an alien invasion. It never occurred to the physicist that the aliens would simply launch a biological attack. No need for lasers and spaceships and fancy weapons when you can just kill everyone with a virus.
Big bubble of swamp gas.
Better check with Clive Cussler’s NUMA team.
By the way, does anyone know whether Cussler is conservative or liberal? I’ve read several of his books and enjoyed them. But, the one I just started seems to be glorifying environmental wackos, and if he’s a lib, I want to trash it before I bet too much further in.
Perhaps years ago, it seems Adolph has been replaced by aliens.
I believe that GOD created more planets with intelligent life - maybe a planet void of liberals.
You and I are on the same page. We were watching that show, and I told my wife if aggressive aliens ever showed up we'd be dead instantly -- either biological, nano, or some other tech that targets whatever lifeform you want eradicated. There'd be no fight -- none.
