Washington Post blogger, Erik Wemple, has accused certain media outlets of declining to report on a potentially big political scandal that recently broke. Obviously Wemple must be referring to the arrest last week of Zachary Edwards, the former Obama staffer and member of a prominent Democrat campaign consulting firm who was accused of attempting to steal the identity of the Republican Secretary of State of Iowa in an attempt to falsely smear him. Neither Wemple's Washington Post nor any of the other major media outlets with the exception of the Des Moines Register which attempted to place a positive spin on the story (Political consultants quickly fire arrested man) reported on the political details of this arrest.
Oops! Wrong scandal. What Wemple was referring to was a dead cat found in the yard of a Democrat congressional campaign manager in Arkansas with the word "LIBERAL" neatly painted (airbrushed?) on it. And here is Wemple hopping atop his moral high horse to make his accusation:

This dead cat thing is the biggest scandal Erik can come up with? Of course no one wants animals to be abused (IF the cat was actually abused in this case), but a dead cat with liberal painted on it? Good grief.
If Erik wants scandal, all he need do is look to Obama. He's riddled with them.
In the loony land of democrats, you chunk a dead cat over a fence and whoever it hits is the next star of the democrat party. A democrat should be honored to find a dead cat anywhere near them.
To kill a Rat’s cat and paint it sounds like something beyond any kind of conservative I ever heard about. What did the cat ever do to deserve it? This sounds like the work of an unbalanced nut.
Nothing about suspected cause of death — cat might have croaked of its own accord or become road kill. Then some wise guy (maybe even another Rat) paints letters on it.
In fact: it sounds like the work of a Liberal.

Come on.. that's important. The Post has to report it. It's horrible. It's not like some unimportant thing that only local yokels would care about; to wit,
"media ignored the horrible murder of 13-year-old Jesse Dirkhising by two homosexual men in the little town of Rogers, Arkansas"
Washington post -- I recall that the ombudsman explained that it was not of interest in the region therefore nothing besides the AP story would ever be published in the Post about the murder of the 13-year-old.
No, it sounds like the work of a desperate Democrat strategist trying to shift attention.
In the past, when an offensive word is scrawled on a wall or on some lib's car, it seems to usually turn out that it was the lib himself who did it, in order to create an incident.
I found this part of Wemple's blog interesting. Burris very conveniently goes "off grid." Good away to avoid answering questions.
Add my Amen to that. There's no proof that this was done by someone of the opposing party!
That was my first thought. I certainly don't know, but this has "liberal hoax" written all over it.
The perp must have worked with AMAZING speed and was incredibly prepared. The campaign manager took a short trip to the gas station and by the time he returned the cat was dead with “LIBERAL” neatly painted onto its side. An ordinary can of spray paint can’t do that neat lettering so it was probably an airbrush which means the perp was incredibly prepared. I wonder if it was an IWATA airbrush. I used to sell those.
Why would someone trying to send a message to this guy by killing his cat write “liberal” on the cat? Wouldn’t that person write the guy’s name or the candidate’s name on the cat? This is like the mob putting a hit on someone they thought informed on them and then writing “sandwich” on the dead man’s forehead. It doesn’t make any sense. “Liberal”? This cat stinks of rat.....Democrat rat.
