NEW YORK (AP) - An ABC News executive tells The Associated Press that the network has interviewed Newt Gingrich's second wife and is likely to air the segment Thursday on "Nightline."

“There is forgiveness for those who seek God and I believe in the power of redemption for it is a central tenet of my Christian faith.” This is the line I focused in on, from Perry’s farewell speech, in regard to Gingrich’s conversion a few years ago.
There’s a difference between the change of heart from the Lord, and political expediency. I’ve been afraid that Romney’s turn-around on abortion is political, and praying that Newt’s is from the Lord.
(I’ll be honest, though. I do want a good conversion story, though. Tell me what the fire and brimstone smelled like, and how it singed, so I’ll know - in my heart - that you mean it.
WHAT!?
I thought it was the DEER that are setting off my exterior sensors!
Must be time to review the IR photo folder’s content.
We are talking about an election in the United States of America that will be occurring in the year 2012, Common Era.
If you think Rick Santorum is electable AT ALL after watching him last night, you must have been busy in 2008 figuring out who should serve in President Hunter's cabinet.
That boy can't get elected to anything.
'Tis no laughing matter; Human!
We are GODS!
The MSM slimes need to be destroyed.
—I didnt know that she was LDS. Thats a surprise, I guess.—
My take is this: when someone takes an unsupported or way over the top position on something, it is usually for reasons not readily apparent.
I remember arguing with a bunch of Catholics about Mary being “ever-virgin” and wondered why they were so bent on twisting plain scripture to support their position. On further study I discovered it was because the Apocrypha was vindicated if their interpretation was true, and that core belief was one that other critical beliefs stood on.
And when someone comes out as such a rabid Romney supporter, you can pretty much bet a few paychecks that the person is a Mormon.
—Agreed. She was one of the more obnoxious ones.—
When I come across obnoxious posters, I just ignore them, no matter how big their posts.
For those not in the brainwashed Left, it's 2012 Anno Domini - in the year of our Lord.
Newt should man up and apologize to his first two wives. Period. I don’t like it when men wimp out and use words such as “may have hurt”. How about, “I definitely hurt and I regret it.” Then people would move on. I believe this is called “unfinished business”.
The angel Moroni is the one who supposedly gave Treasure Huntin' Joe the book and started the whole thing. Moroni's golden idol graces the peak of the mormon temple. It seems rightful that the cult should be named after him, the moronic church, and his book the moronic bible...detailing how only being a moron is pleasing to God, only morons go to heaven, how perfectly obedient morons become moronic gods, how our God once was a man who chose to be a moron, etc.
Seems that if missionairies are looking for potential morons, they should advertise to the paint huffers and glue sniffers first...they're halfway there.
I despise the MSM but Newt had to see this coming. He should stop with the mealy mouthed half apologies to his ex wife and just say, “I did a terrible thing.” Period. As for the people who defend him, I hope they never come home and find their spouse in bed with somebody else. It will be very, very painful.
How many times do you want him to apologize or are you just not liking what he has said over and over and over.
The ex wife here is bitter, she needs to move on. She has wallowed so long in her own hate that it is that hate that has destroyed her.
You reap what you sow.
It surely is disappointing to hear FReepers denounce the wronged wife in strongest terms while excusing - endorsing! - serial adultery and easy divorce on the part of the husband. I have to wonder how seriously some of these folks must take their own marriage vows.
I agree. However, how do you or I know whether or not he's done this? Maybe he's done it many times in private...and that's the point, isn't it? We're not electing a saint, were trying to elect a politician to take on and defeat Obama, and to get this country turned back onto the path that pretty much everyone here on FR knows we should be on. If it is a question of moral purity vs. the intelligence, knowledge and experience to lead this country well, I'll take the latter. Besides, when have we EVER had a morally perfect person in the WH (or Congress, or the Supreme Court, or as dog-catcher)? EVERYONE has something in their past that they're not proud of, that they'd do differently if they could rewind history. But we can't do that, we can only look forward and apply the lessons we've learned along the way.
Gingrich was right last night when he said that he was appalled that such a question would even be asked in a Presidential debate. It IS despicable.
I can’t believe that people are defending serial adultery!
