The Obama administration is launching a new space arms-control initiative that critics say will lead to restrictions on U.S. military activities in space, a key U.S. strategic war-fighting advantage.
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is expected to announce the initiative as early as Tuesday. The plan will be built on work contained in a European Union draft code of conduct for space that the Pentagon and State Department have criticized as too restrictive.

Those that disagree are beyond ignorant and refuse to learn from history.
I heard that program and as always, dozed off when it got interesting. I subscribe to the Coast to Coast daily email and enjoy it. A lot of things are covered on that program that aren’t heard elsewhere...and not all of it is tin foil stuff. You know that.
The guy so clearly hates the United States that it’s demoralizing to see folks offer up any support for him whatsoever. If this nation were right side up, he’d already have been impeached and removed from office. Strike that, he would never have been elected.
My wife attends meetings with people quite often. Some of the women are so enamored with the guy, that they can’t help but sing his praises.
Under Clinton, and now again, I seriously wonder if women should be allowed to vote. Something like 67% of women voted for Bill Clinton because he was so dreamy/a bad boy.
LOL, you sure know how to make a guy feel uneasy...
Ah, but I live in California. I’m safe.
Obama is all about devolving America to the technilogical standpoint that his Muslim brothers riding camels, sporting scimitars and muskets can kick our ass and enforce Allah’s Will.

More like three million, but there are natural ‘choke points’ for a huge army, and a rifle behind every blade of grass.
I hope your not counting on the last couple of generations to be holding those rifles.
A hundred odd years ago, your Royal Navy ruled - i.e. OWNED - the seas, preventing piracy, ending the slave trade, and pre-empting potentially hostile nations from launching seaborne attacks on your island and colonies. Were you in the wrong then?
For the record, I’d welcome our allied British military’s contribution to our dominance in space. The Red Chinese or Iranians, not so much.
What’s the problem with that?
Not interested in owning other countries, and don’t need any lebensraum. But I want to see us dominant in space as a matter of self-defense. It’s analagous to controlling our borders and airspace. It would be too easy for a hostile force to launch a sneak attack from space. Somebody really Hitler-like, such as Ahmadinejad or Kim Jong Un or whatever other dictator comes along. That must be prevented.
There is a program to refurbish the aging U.S. nuclear weapons arsenal. But many experts argue that the reliability of renovated warheads is unknown without testing. Russia faces the same problem. The nuclear test ban treaty forbids testing. Under Bush (43) the plan was to create a new generation of warheads which could be tested by computer model but some scientists argued the results would be questionable.
The problem with refurbishing old warheads is that the tooling for building the warheads no longer exists so the reliability of the refurbished product is unknown.
what are you going to do when China take the same stance against the USA and see us as a threat?
Thanks for the comments and the link.
We face a tough world out there, and other nations are pursuing their own updates to their arsenals. Russia is. China is. North Korea is. Iran is. We’ve go them at all stages of the readiness spectrum.
We are therefore confronted with the reality that we must do so also.
My expression of this is not intended to infer that you don’t agree. You very well may.
We are still susceptible to the starry eyed nincompoop in the White House, and whether they will eviscerate us or not.
I am around here. Maybe on the coasts they'd 'occupy' the enemy camps...but here would be a different story.
Besides, there are a lot of young men and women who have served in the military, too.
Not everyone under 30 is a useless slug living in their momma's basement.
Somewhere on the technological horizon is the next generation of strategic arms. It may be a defensive system that neutralizes enemy delivery vehicles or the warheads themselves. Before that happens we'll have to build and test new warheads.
I may not be as qualified as you are to state so, but I do agree with your take on it.
Thank you for the response.
The British Empire/RN ruled the seas/world in what Churchill would later call ‘spheres of influences’. That is to say that we didnt rule the whole world or all the sea. The French, Dutch, Belgians etc all had an Empire. Not to mention China and the US who had naval power.
I took your point to be that ONLY America should have access to space and esp space in a military sense. Much as you want that to stop any attack on the US, dont you think the rest of us would equally see complete domination of space by the US as dangerous and a policy we have a right to oppose?.
I trust America, but I still wouldnt want them solely in space armed to the teeth.
