A hundred odd years ago, your Royal Navy ruled - i.e. OWNED - the seas, preventing piracy, ending the slave trade, and pre-empting potentially hostile nations from launching seaborne attacks on your island and colonies. Were you in the wrong then?

For the record, I’d welcome our allied British military’s contribution to our dominance in space. The Red Chinese or Iranians, not so much.

What’s the problem with that?

The British Empire/RN ruled the seas/world in what Churchill would later call ‘spheres of influences’. That is to say that we didnt rule the whole world or all the sea. The French, Dutch, Belgians etc all had an Empire. Not to mention China and the US who had naval power.

I took your point to be that ONLY America should have access to space and esp space in a military sense. Much as you want that to stop any attack on the US, dont you think the rest of us would equally see complete domination of space by the US as dangerous and a policy we have a right to oppose?.

I trust America, but I still wouldnt want them solely in space armed to the teeth.
