Just what this country needs: a Whopper and fries delivered to its front door.
Burger King, in a bid to catch up with McDonalds and take a bite out of the competition posed by fast-food rivals such as Wendys, is experimenting with home delivery. Customers can order online or by phone, and the next thing they know -- ding-dong! -- dinner is at the front door.

If you are too lazy to get off the couch to get some garbage like BK then you need some serious help.
Now, do I tip the Delivery Guy or do I just see how many Fries he pilfered with his greasy fingers and call it a draw?
It might work for KFC or similar.

There should be a delivery charge or minimum just for the gas and labor alone. I’m guilty of having those $1 dbl-cheeseburgers they usually sell on occasion.
Interesting to see how this plays out.
Burger King and McDonalds have LOW COST food, with convenience playing a large factor along with low price point, in thier franchise’s success. When people pay $20+ for a pizza, paying a couple bucks extra for delivery makes sense. But, when you pay far less to feed yourself, or your family - the delivery costs soon equal the cost of the food.
I predict this may not work well - but I’ve been wrong before.
Yes, I would like pheasant under glass on a bun and a side of instant caviar topped with Grey Pupoun, one diet sparkling wine, and an instant apple souffle.
Will that be long?
And yes, I am talking about their latest and greatest attempt to "redo" their fries.
The "new, improved" ones still suck. Not as bad as the preious ones, but major suckage nonetheless.
Cold woppers and fries don’t reheat very well.......... Nor do soggy buns go well with burgers.
They should set a minimum $ amount, then target businesses where its hard for employees to make that food run at lunchtime. They could rake in the money!
Uhm, that would be "lazy boy recliner..." ; )
This will fail. Burgers do not “keep” well for the 20 minutes or so that they need to stay in a hot-box. The lettuce wilts, the buns get soggy and the fries...cold as stone.
We were talking with friends a few weeks back and we were talking about how hot dog and hamburger buns have changed and are now crappy and get soggy and that's not just fast food buns. The store bought buns are just as bad.
We don't buy them anymore. We use Thomas' light multi grain english muffins instead. We don't miss those unhealthy soggy buns a bit!
We made pulled beef in the crock pot over the week end and had them on the english muffins. Very yummy.
There is one in particular in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, that is painfully slow (at least it used to be). It always took 20 minutes or more to get your food there, even if the place wasn't visibly busy.
For you folks in the ABQ metro area, it's the BK at 528 and Obregon/Corrales Rd. (River's Edge I)
Avoid!
"Sorry about the delay, but our staff called in sick."
They've got to try something.
I think BK is the worst of the worst. I wouldn’t feed it to my dog if they gave it to me free.
I'd get up and dance for joy, only I can't get up.............
Maybe they should try cooking some real burgers like they used to, instead of microwave reheated hockey pucks out of a drawer...........
