As usual, all of the Moderates and Liberals coalesce around their front-runner, and almost all of the Conservatives stay in and split the vote just waiting for a series of miracles.
Rick Santorum, are you paying attention? Romney isn’t going to pick you for his V.P., but Newt might. Somewhere inside you must realize this.
Why is it the Conservatives always persist in splitting the vote?

I wish they would come together. I am praying a lot.
Santorum beat newt in Iowa, tied Newt for 4th in N.H. and according to the latest poll leads New in S.C. I prefer Newt over Santorum but if the idea is to beat Romney it looks so far like Santorum is the better horse. I would think whoever comes in second in S.C. would be one to support. And by second I mean a strong second, not a close second.
It’s simply stunning that conservatives would both fail to
nominate an outstanding candidate AND repeat the same mistakes as ‘08 almost verbatim. It’s simply stunning.
I just don’t get the Rick Perry supporters. Do they seriously think that he can win when he’s been in single digits for weeks? Do they think he’ll have some miraculous last-minute surge when none of the circumstances that led to Santorum’s victory in Iowa are present?
Part of the solution to our problem is calling on candidates to do the right thing and drop out for the good of the country. The other part is YOU (I say that in a general sense) doing what’s right for America by not being an enabler to a failed candidacy.
If we end up with Willard Romney the open socialist, the Santorum and Perry supporters will only have themselves to blame.
You know, Newt worries me a little as a polished Washington insider. I do like alot about him though.
I kinda think a Romney / Christie ticket could catch fire. Got to think who’s going to take the Independent vote.
Just my $ .02
Romney probably would give the offer, which is why I go for Santorum now. With what I know about Romney, he would try to grab a conservative running mate as a ploy to gain more conservative interest, given that that’s his weak area. Any GOPer will want to grab what they can to unite the GOP, it’s how the game is played. Although Rick should never, even if offered, take the offer, because he would get trashed, and would probably have his chances of running again crushed.

been saying the same thing.
Newt and Rick S need to talk and have one of them drop out and maybe promise them the VP spot.
Perry please sadly drop out and give your 5 or 6 % vote to another conservative.
Perry was done over by Romney as was Newt with his dirty AD’s so if you lot want to get him back all get behind one conservative and beat the crap out of this elitist establishment RINO
