“Santorum won the right to stay in with a first place tie in Iowa.”

Santorum has no money to speak of, almost no organization, is hated by the media, and doesn’t have a rat’s chance in Florida.

Have you alrady forgotten how well that worked for us in 2008?

Good. Now if Santorum and Perry can do for Newt what Huntsman just did for Romney...

Anyone else get a crazy FRmail from JH Fan? lol.

Yes.

I wish Jon Huntsman would tell his dad to stay off the internet.

I was being sarcastic about Huntsman--it was clear a long time ago he never had a chance and was never going to generate any excitement about his candidacy--even if he is related to all 44 Presidents (including both Grover Cleveland #22 and Grover Cleveland #24).

Paul has no chance and it would improve the process if he were to drop out, or at least stop the reckless namecalling. Unfortunately he has enough die-hard supporters that he could probably guarantee Obama's re-election by running as an independent candidate.

I actually hope he’s ok. He’s the one people should be wondering who his supporters would pick if he were out.

I'm pretty sure most of them would choose BHO. ;^)

“Catherine, I appreciate your post but you are wasting time responding to 87.

Everything he said about Perry set a new record for idiocy.”

Yes, and there have been quite a few contenders for the top spot today, LOL.

The RealClearPolitics site has Santorum’s color as brown, which is a huge insult to Santorum. For anyone who doesn’t know what in heck i’m talking about, you can do a search because i won’t be the one explaining it. It hurts my delicate sensibilities just to THINK about it. :)

WARNING: Before doing a search, you really need to read this article: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/06/20/wikipedia_and_santorum/

And don’t use Google. Many of Google’s top hits have been phished and will drop a nasty payload into your Temp file. Turn off Javascript! (I know this from personal experience.)

Amazing to have two decimal places for accuracy for a simulation. Care to share your methods?

I should probably also warn you not to click on any “official-looking” malware scan that may pop up on your screen. It’s actually the malware itself. It disables your Task Manager, so about the only thing you can do is reboot into safe mode and delete the Temp file and the official-looking shortcut it drops on your desktop. Then run updated virus scans, etc.

Good luck there - as they’re going from one Mormon candidate to another.

(comment is in now way/shape/form any type of support for calling Mormonism a cult - just pointing out low probability of success)

"Paul has a sizable and enthusiastic following, but I wonder about his health."

No kidding.

And add to it the fact that the Iowa caucus binds no delegates, and that NH is not a Republican primary in any meaningful sense.

Yet, even so, these early states set the tone and somehow persuade everything that follows!

It is utterly irrational.

Someday, will these subsequent, large, conservative states realize that they have the power to determine the Republican nominee if they would simply IGNORE what happens early?

(Incidentally, though he wasn’t running as a conservative, this is effectively what Giuliani tried. It didn’t work. So the later states rising up hasn’t happened yet....).

Yaaaaaaaaaahoooooooooooooooo!!!

Now you go tell NEWT to hammer Mitt on ObamaRomneycare and don't let up. Then go on the lowering of taxes, the courts all the issues we want to hear as only he can deliver. Tell us what HE is going to do for America and why it is so important.

Don't let himself get caught up again in DEFENSE, ignore and stay on the issues. You go tell him I said so.lol. and P.S. DON'T MENTION ROMNEYS NAME AS THAT GIVE HIM MORE TIME TO SPUTTER. OK? ok.

I want to hear FIRE AND BRIMESTONE out of Newt tomorrow night.

Dear Lord on this your day, I plead with YOU to raise up NEWT GINGRICH to be our nominee. In name of Jesus Christ, I pray.

over 60% of SC's population lives in trailers ~ not that there's anything with trailers ~ but they are far from a leadership position in anything these days.

Then SC played no part in the on 2008 and ongoing financial crisis. I would think that does gives them a leadership position.

I actually got an “inside tip” on the Perry drop-out/non-drop-out thing.

Apparently many of the donors who put big bucks into his campaign were outraged when he indicated he would drop-out after Iowa, essentially stating that they didn’t donate all that money to have him drop out before a single Southern Primary.

If that's so, then it truly is gut check time for Rick Perry. What he does now, will determine what he's really made of, and if he's got the character and integrity to do what's right for the country, despite pressure from his big money donors.

You've got to wonder what his major donors are thinking. Do they give a damn about the probable outcome here? Don't they realize that their candidate isn't capable of pulling off a miracle, and that the 5% of votes he's going to get, could likely be the critical margin of victory in South Carolina?
