He had that crazed eyes, smirk and condescension common to lefties. He bugged me more than some of the others.

Finally, some sanity.

Thank you!

Like I said, this is still, very much a race.

Yes, but sadly the votes will go to Willard......that is, unless we educate voters that Willard belongs to a cult.

Make no mistake, the LDS (Romney/Huntsman)have financial stakes in more business interests than anyone can imagine and the temple would like nothing more than to have a representative in the White House.

If Willard the Lib beats Newt by a couple points or so, Perry will be responsible.

If Perry drops, his support will split between Newt, Santorum, and maybe a few going to Willard or RuPaul.

If Willard wins in SC, it won't be because of Perry. You can thank the state of South Carolina for having an open primary that allows the Democrats and Libertarians to cross over and help Romney and RuPaul out. The Democrats know Romney is unelectable, and don't think that many of them won't be crossing over with the intent of helping him out. They need him to get the nomination, and unfortunately Perry and Gingrich have both placed too much emphasis on SC, and the liberals know that.

Willard is nowhere near the 1144 delegates he needs.

Perry has a job, one of the best jobs there is.

I don't think he'll be re-elected in 2014. That's too dang long to be Governor. He talked about wanting to send a lot of folks in Congress home or cutting back how much time they spend there, people will be using that against him. Plus the Democrats are gaining in Texas thanks to Texas being a minority-majority state.

What a disappointing weekend. Saints lose. Packers lose. And now Huntsman is dropping out.

Ever since Tim Pawlenty and Gary Johnson dropped out of the race, Huntsman had a lock on the "most exciting candidate" label.

If only the media would start treaty Buddy Roemer as a serious candidate...

Will everybody stop whining for people to drop out.

I don’t think anyone who wants to continue should drop out until they either run out of money or decide it’s hopeless.

Perry said he would go on to Florida (with Candy Crowley today).

I hope he does.

Why do we allow 3 states to decide our nominee?

Don’t you ever get tired of making unpleasant remarks about Perry?

You made an odd jump ... from Cain to Newt. And you act like you have convictions???

2. He prefers Romney - fellow governor w executive experience - over Gingrich or Santorum or Paul.
4. He wants a cabinet position in the Romney addministration when his term expires - like Connolly w Nixon.

Perry can't stand romney and will never endorse him. Ever. If i'm wrong, you can come back and laugh at me. But i won't be.

I doubt he's interested in moving out of Texas, either, especially to Washington D.C., unless he has real power to do something about strengthening the 2nd and 10th Amendments, his main 2 passions. Now, if there was a Department of States' Rights & Firearm Freedoms, yeah... maybe.

It’s clear you’re unaware of Perry’s longstanding dislike of Romney. which goes all the way back to the time when Romney didn’t want the Boy Scouts in the opening ceremony of the Olympics.

In 2006, they were close enough that Romney helped Perry out during his reelection bid. Romney was running the RGA, and a big Perry donor funneled $1 million through the RGA to Perry's campaign. One of the checks was even hand delivered by a Romney associate.

But there isn't much love lost between them these days.

And Rick Perry damn sure knows that if Romney gets the nomination, Obama will win. There is no future for Rick Perry in a Romney cabinet, because there will never be a Romney cabinet. Romney cannot win without Conservatives and Conservatives will never vote for Romney.

Wikipedia is wrong. There was a deal in the works at one time, but Bain (and Blackstone) ended up backing out on the deal. Huntsman needed the deal because they were WAY over-leveraged, and when the deal fell through that caused their bond rating to be lowered to junk bond status. Huntsman was later rescued by a cash infusion by another bail-out investor, Mantlin Patterson.

If this was the conservative primary, you might be right but McCain (don’t ask me why) is popular in some places and Huntsman can deliver 2-3% to Romney which is not huge but every bit counts when you’re trying to get to 50. In the Republican primary - neither endorsement hurts.

My dad has a neat little habit of occasionally sending me newspaper clippings of interest, sometimes adding little hand-written comments in the margins.

One time he sent me a clipping of an advertisemet, but it was all in Chinese writing. My dad had written on the clip, as if amazed at the product it was touting: "What will they think of next!"

I love my dad! {^)

Gingrich and Perry have handed the GOP nomination to Mitt Romney on the silver platter of political stupidness.

If you are willing to hand Romney the nomination based on South Carolina's open primary...you've truly bought into the MSM's crap.

Perry ain't going to have an influence on Romney getting the nomination. There is no reason why he can't stay in for a while. Florida is the first closed primary, but even Florida is full of plenty of RINOs, and not just the Jeb Bush types, not to mention all of the libs that vote for Obama in 2008.
