I do believe the candidates should get together and tell ABC that if they are not going to step up their level of professionalism in their debates, they will not work with ABC.

My local high school does better with their sound that the ABC amateurs. And the “questioners” are no better. Sawyer and Stuffy need to find another line of work, they were, (once again) pathetic.

"Can you verify if the link to tonight's debate actually works?"

If you go back to my posting I said BY TOMORROW the link to the video should be up. Where it now shows the time for tonights debate it will change to watch video of debate when it is up.

Scroll down and you will see how the last years debates are posted. That is what tonights will say.

"Santorum is smart, probably smarter than Gingrich, but not as bombastic."

And not nearly as articulate.

LOL! I said by tomorrow. It might be tomorrow for you if you are in the East. I am in the West so it is still today for me. Just give it some time to appear.

Did anyone else notice that ABC gave Ron Paul their only working microphone?

OBAMA”CARE” IS A MONOPOLY, AND THEREFORE VIOLATES THE ANTI-TRUST LAWS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

The anti-trust laws don't apply to the federal government. They operate a number of monopolies: like the Army, the Navy, the Air Force and the Marines. Nobody competes with social Security or Medicare, either.

It's dangerous because there are plenty of radicals in Saudi Arabia who would like to depose the royals and cut off oil sales to the US, and even start something with the Shiites directly or indirectly.

10% of the Saudi population is Shi'a and most of them live in the Eastern Province. The Saudis don't trust them and fear Iranian influence. Moreover, Bahrain is run the by Shi'a. If the Shi'a in Iraq, aided by Iran takeover the country then this will have repercussions in the Kingdom. If the Royal family is overthrown chaos will result in the short term including a reduction in oil production, which will be devastating to the global economy. In the long term, whoever is in charge will sell the oil so that they have the revenue to run the country. The Saudis have about a quarter of the world's proven oil reserves and the world's largest exporter of oil.

As far as the others, if Iraq falls to the extremists, it's bad. We know that Saudi Arabia and Iran are funding opposite sides of what could be a potential civil war in Iraq. Most of us expect Iraq to devolve into civil war, and I don't think we need to be involved.

It is not a matter of choosing to be involved. Depending on who takes over, Iran's possible involvement, and what happens to oil production during such a civil war, we will have a dog in this fight, which will have an impact on us whether we like it or not. We saw what happened when Saddam was in charge. Countries like Kuwait, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Israel will be impacted.

Pakistan is a tinder box. The Taliban are present along with AQ elements. The ISI is riddled with Islamists and Taliban sympathizers. The public approval rating for the US is about 10%. The biggest danger is that some non-state actor will acquire a nuclear weapon and use it. I don't believe that the Pakistani government would initiate such use against India or us.

Perry has alienated just about every group of voters out there.

Perry repels voters.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry Pushes Harshest Anti-Immigration Bill Yet – Passes Senate Jun 17,2011

We don't have any such law, and Perry did NOT push any anti-illegal immigration legislation during this last session. I followed the Texas Tea Party emails about this all during the last legislative session.

In fact, late in the session, nearly EVERY Texas Tea Party signed on to a letter to the Governor, expressly condemning him for failing to provide leadership on this most critical issue.

I didn’t see the debate and just got home. Obviously it sucked since no-one is talking about it?

Here ya go!

In through the nose - out through the mouth...

Thanks, but I didn't need to see that tonight. That's the sort of stuff that can push a man straight over the edge.

I guess we’d have to figure out how to measure “smart”, and how closely that might might with “intelligent”.

His education seems superior to Gingrich.

“Santorum earned a B.A. in political science from Pennsylvania State University in 1980 and an M.B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh in 1981. In 1986, Santorum received a Juris Doctorate degree from the Dickinson School of Law, was admitted to the Pennsylvania bar, and began practicing in Pittsburgh at the law firm Kirkpatrick & Lockhart, now known as K&L Gates”.

Gingrich received a B.A. in history from Emory University in Atlanta in 1965, an M.A. in 1968, and a Ph.D. in modern European history from Tulane University in New Orleans in 1971.

Sorry, but a law degree trumps a PhD in “history”, even an esoteric history. But it is easy to see how someone who got a PhD in history would THINK they were the smartest guy in the room. And he did turn that history degree into a lifetime political career. We don’t normally think of people who go to school to get into politics as “smart”, but I guess you could be.

Does Gingrich have “street smarts” maybe? Well, he let himself get played pretty good by Clinton, time and again. He was “too smart by half” in his ethical dealings, getting himself punished when by all rights he did nothing actually WRONG. It takes a special kind of “smart” to have to pay $300,000 for innocence.

But he sure “wised up” after that? When he resigned his office? When he decided it was a good idea to sit on a couch with Pelosi? When he agreed with John Kerry in a global warming debate?

Gingrich is a smart man. And we all know it, because he tells us constantly, and won’t let us forget it. Santorum is also a smart man, a trained legal mind, but I guess he just doesn’t beat you over the head with it enough.

Now, if you just mean fact-storage, it could well be that Gingrich has more stuff crammed into his head. After all, he hasn’t really had to work a day in his life, at least not since he quit his job and started collecting that nice pension. Well, he did make a company, but apparently he doesn’t work much there, making $1.6 million for his firm while only working an hour a month. OK, I guess it takes some smarts to turn a career that ends in resignation into a multi-million dollar speaking/lecturing/consulting business.

Rick Santorum hasn’t had that much free time, what with working hard to keep his ONE MARRIAGE together, raising 7 kids, and having to support his family after he fought valiantly but lost his election.

Seriously, why do you think Rick Santorum isn’t a bright, intelligent, SMART person?

Just imagine the Teacher's union lobbying Perry, it will put a smile on your face. Challenge him on the 10th admendment or the second and see how far you get. Perry is a tough guy just when we need a tough guy. One stupid word got him knocked off the tracks and we will be sorry for it.

Perry/Newt works quite well for me.

Gingrich promised to eviscerate Romney. He was going to come down so hard on him that Gingrich said it might even cost him the election, but that was OK because he was going to take one for the team.

But something happened on the way to the debate.

Gingrich rode a wave of conservative resentment and empowerment to a solid majority in the house. Within 4 years, he had nearly squandered it, and quit.

You know, President is a 4-year term. Think if things go bad for him in the 1st 4 years, he would quit?
