Gingrich promised to eviscerate Romney. He was going to come down so hard on him that Gingrich said it might even cost him the election, but that was OK because he was going to take one for the team.

But something happened on the way to the debate.

You have a point. It’s almost as if some candidates are going through the motions, and don’t really want to defeat this duplicitous socialist Romney. Who brought up the fact that 3/4 of his judges were Democrats? No one!

Unfortunately, I’m afraid Newt might be your typical behind-the-back bully: he goes after people when they’re not around, then becomes a smarmy sycophant when face to face. Did it to an embarrassing extent with Clinton. And with Pelosi — well, we all recall the shameless share-the-couch moment that will live in infamy.

That’s why I don’t share the enthusiasm some have for a Newt-Obama debate.

Still and all, I’d vote for Newt over the current Marxist president in a heartbeat.
