This is an appeal to all long-time conservatives. Let's start lining up behind Newt Gingrich, as Thomas Sowell, Art Laffer, JC Watts, Jim Robinson (Free Republic honcho) and others have. The hazzard of holding back an endorsement is that the media, pudits and PAC TV commercials will continue to shape negative opinion against Newt and we may lose our best conservative warrior. The result of the media, pundit and PAC TV onslaught may cause the nominee to be Romney or Santorum. Romney is a moderate and Santorum does not have the experience to Push the conservative agenda in the general election or if elected in the Washington DC - Congressional War Zone. I want to urge Sarah Palin, Herman Cain and Rush Limbaugh to endorse Gingrich now before they lose their voice to the LOUD voices of the media, pundit and PAC TV. He who hesitates is lost.
Can’t do it until he’s the last one standing. I don’t trust him.
In fact, no one much will vote for him other than old, fat white guys like him.
Why do we have to jump to the tune of the media, etc.? Boehner can’t take pressure either, and see what that gets us?
And I’m not going to back Newt when I’ve waited all this time to pick my own candidate to support. Santorum is the most conservative candidate, and I’m sticking with him.
Sorry, I’m busy backing Santorum at the moment. But I could vote for Newt depending on how things go over the next two to three weeks.
Romney is the establishment pick, and the establishment will insure he is the nominee.
It does not matter who wins between Obama and Romney, the destruction of our country from within will continue unabated.
I see three scenarios ahead:
1) The country experiences a “crash” of the economy that will open the eyes of Americans to what the Fed truly is, and the overwhelming majority of Americans will finally vote out the marxists (unlikely)...
2) The country will continue its headlong dive into a marxist shithole (most likely)....
3) Or, a true “civil war” will have to erupt that will leave tens of millions of Americans dead in order to put this country back on track (highly unlikely as most Americans have no will to either “rock the boat” or are dependent upon the government to the point that they fully support the establishment agenda)
The true call to arms should be made to tens of millions of Armed patriots marching on D.C. to set things right, but as I pointed out before, highly unlikely.
Considering the pacified state of our citizens, the only course we seem to have available at this point in time would be to begin the process of building a conservative political party that will eventually replace the GOP. It would also be a very good idea to actually start reliably conservative media outlets to eventually replace our current marxist enabling media.
Just my worthless 2 cents.
“I dont want to pick one yet. Lets wait until after South Carolina. There are 3 good candidates right now that are acceptable and that is Rick, Rick and Newt. No reason to settle on one right this minute.”
Agreed. We all got our favorites. Let’s let them duke it out in SC and see who comes out on top. After SC, I think at least 1 of the 3 should drop out.
I’m there! Count me in.
THE boldest move is the Newt/Santorum ticket. Newt raised about $10 million in the 4th quarter while Rick Santorum has raised about $1 million BUT a couple more million since winning Iowa.
Newt’s got a couple Super Pacs well organized, too.
Put it all together and run as a team AND watch the establishment’s heads explode.
Santorum is so young but such a CONSERVATIVE bulldog, reminding me of a young Newt : )
How ‘bout EIGHT years of Santorum and then EIGHT years of Santubio, folks??
Newt/Rick ‘12 & ‘16
Rick/Marco ‘20 & ‘24
BE BOLD.
Sorry, my support is behind Santorum.
AGREE.. NOT YET TIME to settle on one candidate. I am leaning toward Santorum or Romney
The nomination of Romney (if it happens) will haunt the GOP for years. He can not beat Obama and that is the only
reason the RINOs want him. They hate Newt because he would shake up things in Washington and get rid of the Republicrats. RINOs hate conservatives. Obama is also going to put Hillary Clinton on his ticket. Biden will be dumped. He’ll win going away with McRomney as the GOP nominee. Unless the average republican voter wants this liberal Romney crammed down our throats the way McCain was, we have got to get behind Newt Gingrich. That also means
Rick Perry and Santorum need to drop out of the race. If they care anything about the country and don’t want to see four more years of the marxist Obama, they will get out now, or at least after NH and support the only man that can beat Obama and his name is Newt Gingrich. Don’t let Karl
Rove and his gang of Gingrich-hating RINOs select who our nominee will be. AMEN.
The problem with that is SC has picked our nominee EVERY time since 1980.
You split the true conservative vote two or three ways in SC, you get a McCain or Romney. And then Obama wins. Period.
Thank you! I just don't get this push. Pressure on all sides to get behind one or the other.
As my daughter loves to say, "Where's the fire?"
Your leaning towards Romney?
Why?
If Thomas Sowell backs him—that speaks volumes.
Newt has issues, but just maybe he will be able to buck the system. He is quite intellectual and can debate—and I like what he says. If he only does what he says he will, I could back him.
No, Santorum is just too culture of life for you. Just too Natural Law and founding principles.
Gingrich said he will do as Lincoln did to Douglas. Wherever Hussein makes a campaign stop, Newt will be there the next day to counter him. No President, especially our Dear Leader, esteemed brilliant Harvard grad, will sit out unanswered the sh!tstorm Gingrich will unleash. He will dog Hussein into either debate or shame him to defeat.
If Newt had not engineered and pulled off fumigating the House of rat leadership in 1994, I would not give his promise to combat our tyrannical courts much credence. That is why I believe he will do as promised to Constitutionally stomp the tyrannical blackrobes, as described here.
There is nothing the Compost or Slimes can write of Newt that has not been beaten into the dirt many times before. He will ignore them all.
Finally, Newt is an arrogant SOB, perhaps just the man we need to work with a conservative Congress to restore a Constitutional republic.
Yours sounds like the best idea yet, if Santorum would agree. Everyone can agree that Newt’s the toughest, smartest, shrewdest one in the bunch and Santorum is still young. He would make a great vp and be ready for the presidency in 8 years.
Everything that I dislike about Romney, Newt is also guilty of.
No Sale.
