Click on the link, it is a video, with vulgarity, of a Navy SEAL who was at a wake that Jesse Ventura attended, and Ventura said that in this war, NAVY SEALS DESERVE TO DIE!!
Underwater Demolitions Team. They were set up in WW2 to dive beneath enemy ships and attatch mines on them. Not an easy job, but not a SEAL, either...

“UDT is underwater Demolition Team, it was before the seals but many (all?) UDT members became SEALS. So you might say that UDT was the precursor to SEALS. I know a UTD member, 80+ and I would not want to mess with him.”
They UDT was the descendents of the “Frogmen” of WWII. They cleared landing beaches of obstacles before the landing craft arrived.
Everyone at the store knew that Jim was full of it. I was an Army brat for the first 17 1/2 years of my life, so I am pretty good at telling when someone is feeding me a line about the military (Like the guy a few weeks ago who was telling me about his service as a Ranger in Bosnia, where he claims they were involved in heavy firefights with Al-Qaeda training camps. One of my friends was there with the Rangers and they spent most of their time escorting War Crimes investigative around, with the only fire they took being an occasional diehard sniper.). I also have some friends in 5th Group down at Fort Campbell, and there is no comparison between them and Jim.
Thank you.
I’m learning a lot from you guys.
Alrighty then and a hearty Sua Sponte to you
my son is an CRO. Special forces air force. Unbelievable amounts of discipline. Seals is a whole other level from him even. 1-2 percent max. is my guess.
tells you he is/was a SEAL......ISNT :-)

How true.
Why the idiot pols don’t realize how important it is to NOT identify any of them.
I am really surprised the one that decked Ventura wrote the book so soon and used his real name...not typical of UDT/Seal types from my days...
BTW I had a chit in to volunteer for UDT in ‘59 right after I volunteered for Deep Freeze and before I successfully volunteered for Subs - and I liked the ship I was on, guess just restless...ha

And maybe just maybe he's auditioning to be Ron Paul's running mate. You know, someone who can draw the flack away from the name at the top of the ticket.
Isn’t Jesse a Paultard? That would explain this.
"I must study politics and war that my sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. My sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history, naval architecture, navigation, commerce, and agriculture, in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry, and porcelain."
The USS Cavalla is the only preserved submarine that sank an aircraft carrier; she claimed the Pearl Harbor attack veteran Shokaku during the Battle of the Philippine Sea. Located at Seawolf Park in Galveston, Cavalla was damaged by Hurricane Ike but has since reopened.
Back in my Navy Daze, (63-67) I attended 2nd Class Diving School in early ‘66. Second Class Diver was also known as Salvage Divers. Upon graduation from school I returned to duty aboard USS PIEDMONT (AD-17) along with two fellow classmates.
At that time we had great respect for UDT’s and Navy SEALS.
Someone years later on an FR thread mistakenly identified me as a SEAL. I quickly corrected that comment.
I’m proud of my Navy Diver occupation/profession and I still hold SEAL’s in highest regard.
Ventura has always been a jerk IMO and this latest incident more than ever affirms that he always was a jerk and continues to be a First Class JERK. Perhaps the Navy will create an MOS JERK just for Jesse. I know I have.
Thanks, I never knew she was in Galveston. I will be in Galveston this February for a cruise, I booked into the Westin Galleria the day before, if I knew this, I would have booked in Galveston.
Maybe I can visit after the cruise.
You’re very welcome, most of the quotes on your page are new to me, and I love them all.
l putting one between Ventura’s eyes at a mile sounds better!
If you have time and are interested, the Galveston Railroad Museum just reopened this past fall after being pasted by Ike. The museum is of personal interest to me as my great-grandfather was a conductor on the Galveston-Houston Inner Urban Electric and was killed during the Galveston Hurricane of 1915 while trying to rescue a train load of women and children who were trying to reach the mainland before the storm hit. (there were still a lot of folks who were terrified of hurricanes after the Great Galveston Hurricane of 1900 killed 10,000+) Sadly they were swept away by the storm surge just a few dozen yards from safety.
Oh, it’s just treasonous blather. For a minute I thought he might want to kill cute little baby seals, and that would be really bad./sarc
