If you have time and are interested, the Galveston Railroad Museum just reopened this past fall after being pasted by Ike. The museum is of personal interest to me as my great-grandfather was a conductor on the Galveston-Houston Inner Urban Electric and was killed during the Galveston Hurricane of 1915 while trying to rescue a train load of women and children who were trying to reach the mainland before the storm hit. (there were still a lot of folks who were terrified of hurricanes after the Great Galveston Hurricane of 1900 killed 10,000+) Sadly they were swept away by the storm surge just a few dozen yards from safety.

I have been to the Railroad museum, as I used to live in Houston. As a matter of fact, the parking lot I use for the cruise is right next to the museum.
