“UDT is underwater Demolition Team, it was before the seals but many (all?) UDT members became SEALS. So you might say that UDT was the precursor to SEALS. I know a UTD member, 80+ and I would not want to mess with him.”
They UDT was the descendents of the “Frogmen” of WWII. They cleared landing beaches of obstacles before the landing craft arrived.
